We use onsrud bits. The part numbers I would use are as follows.
1/16 diameter with 1/8 shank= 64-000
1/8 diameter with 1/4 shank= 64-012
I would set the router speed to 35,000 rpm. I would also leave the paper or plastic sheeting on the acrylic and only route through the acrylic not the paper...
Also, make sure you are wearing latex or cotton gloves while handling the boards. This issue seems to happen to pvc and foamboards the most. Id assume due to their porousness.
Tampa Grimco is the best. I've been using them for years. Not only do they have just about everything in stock but they are friendly and will solve any issues that may come up while you wait on the phone. Mike, Crystal, Summer, Ryan and Lance are all amazing.
Hey thanks for the feedback guys. It seems as though routing this substrate is best kept for more industrial type routing equipment. I'm using a Zund G3.
Has anyone worked with either of these materials? I have a customer that needs 1/2" material planed to 1/4". I've done this in the past with softer plastics using our router but there has to be an easier way. Would a planer work?
