I also want to say a big thank you to everyone's responses, this is good learning for me :thankyou::thankyou::thankyou:
  2. Vinyl Lettering Coming Off

Customer states that they hadn't even used the trailers when they noticed it was peeling. They said they weren't even washed. I verified where they had been parked and there are no trees and nothing around them. They do own a pool supply company also, they store pool chemicals in a building...
  3. Vinyl Lettering Coming Off

In my defense, I learned from the previous owner, I've had the business only 3 years, the previous owner used calendared for EVERYTHING! I was using cast on this customer's trucks and his idiot drivers would use a pressure washer to clean them and a de-greasing soap, it was like they were trying...
  4. Vinyl Lettering Coming Off

Interesting, 3M said to me that the paint might have "heavy silicone" in it after they had tested the vinyl, but they couldn't be certain. Of course the painter says he didn't do anything different than on any other truck.

I'll try the cast and you're right I'm hoping I'll be done with it. What do you recommend for cleaning them?

Second time I had them bring the one tanker to my shop, my shop is about 65-70 degrees all the time. I pulled off the vinyl, cleaned it down and let it sit for 2 days, then re-lettered...
  8. Vinyl Lettering Coming Off

I'll try and make this story short, one of my customers, of course, this customer is one of my biggest, has about 90 plus Propane & Fuel Oil trucks. I've done numerous of them and never encountered this. Last summer, customer bought 2 used tanker trailers (28 feet long) they were repainted. I...
  9. Hello from New York (Upstate)

Hello A little about me, I purchased an existing sign business almost 3 years ago. The previous owner had been in business a long time, but his ways were a bit antiquated. I'm a graphic designer and worked with him for a while before he retired, but I'm sure that I have lots more to learn...
