  1. Work Orders

Work orders are very specific to each company. It has to have on it the actual stuff and nuances of the stuff that the company actually does.. So you must design your own. and in that way you can have the sequence and arrangement of items in the positions that work best for you. A good work...
  2. How to deal with this

Did you ever try putting on 2 decals One over the other? The qhosting should not come thru on 2 decals.
  3. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

OH yes, I love my set of Step bits. I use them for drilling holes into aluminum real estate signs that I am going to put grommets into!!!
  4. Question on possible font reseller?

Whenever I get stuck identifying a font I sent him a JPG and what I think is close and he always knows what the correct font is. Then I go on his Identifont site and voluntarily contribute some money because he is worth it. When he ID's a font, if it is a foundary font, he always tells me I...

My go-to font expert is David at Identifont <djd@identifont.com> , He would know if it was legit or not.
  6. Installing acrylic letters

Here is my problem with any kind of glue that is made to adhere to the acrylic.... What about the wall? The glue could dissolve or seep into the surface or paint on the wall and then it detaches from the wall with all the glue still adhering nicely to the letters.
  7. Need Help Greys Printing Blue

When I had this problem a long time ago it was because the files were set up by the client. I told him he had to give me CMYK files, but, of course, he was working in RGB all the time. Results All the grays were in the 3 colors, Such as: 10% gray was actually 6% Cyan, Mag & Yellow. If your...
  8. Graphics Question

I didn't know that. but it never came up for me. I only had clients buy shutterstock or others images for use in a greeting card or a brochure. - Ron
  9. Hard Substrate for outside image

Anything I put outside I try to coat with SEM 13003 vinyl clearcoat as it protects and has anti UV properties so it slows sun fade. But Canuck is right, Aluminum is best for this. You said "attach" your print? you may be better off printing direct onto the white coated aluminum, and then...
  10. Graphics Question

Basically their file is thumbnail crap. It only passes as an icon for a smart phone, It means either their original artist was told to make a web logo and it was made small to begin with or the client was too unknowlegeable to ask for the highest res version of it in case they need it in the...
  11. Font ID help

The guy I email for Font ID is David the font master at Identifont <djd@identifont.com>. He has never failed me and after each font he ids, I go on the identifont.com website and voluntarily contribute a few bucks, (he deserves it)
  12. Bad Profile Curve

I dont think roller slip could be it, If it was that then the images itself would be noticeably distorted - like in the type, you could see it in the text letters. This does bi-directional printing right? Maybe the head is a slight diff distance from the media going right than going left. Or...
  13. PSD TO PDF TO AI

I know someone who uses that. It's not that good. It approximates things, If there is shading it does a clunky banding job and it cant cope well with detail. I consider the results usually mediocre and something you may be able to get away with at best. As far as starting with decent quality...
  14. Bad Profile Curve

If you are using it all the time. the rollers should be round. If the machine is out of service for 6+ months and the roller pressure was on, you can get an impression in the roller from having constant pressure in one spot. The only other thing that might do it is if a sheet with a thick edge...
  15. Bad Profile Curve

Are you sure its not one of the other colors. If the blue is a mix, maybe it has a little Mag or Yel in it and the banding is coming from one of the other colors? and not the Cyan. Probably not in this case, but I once had it happen to me, Didn't realize there was just 5% of another color...
