Printer/cutter
I'm using a new mimaki cjv130 and am really impressed. If you can I'd go solvent inks versus Eco-sol inks as well. If you can find a used mimaki make sure it's running the single dx5 head.
How is everyone feeding there 54 base when doing long runs? Does anyone know if seal sells the front table feed roller for the 54 base? I've only seen it available for the 62. Here is a picture of the 62 base front optional roller.
Cutting with cvj
I do almost all my cutting through rasterlink. It is a little more accurate than through finecut from what I've noticed. Make sure you are selecting detect reg. marks when in finecut. If not it doesn't know the alignment of the media.
Oracal
I've used at least 15 rolls of the 30" 3751ra in the last 3 months without any issues at all. All of my 30" rolls are marked on the liner from oracal.
Hitting registration marks?
I've had a similar issue. Try holding the left media holder in place up against the media when it goes and searches for the far left reg. mark. It has worked for me many times.
What he said
I had one and sold it in 3 months. It's good to learn how to print on and that's it. I'd look for a used but newer machine. Technology has come so far and that machine will cause you huge headaches.
