Yes! You can replace the manifold without replacing the head, but you will want to run the head alignments since you have to remove the head to replace the manifold.
I've only dealt with a few dozen of that error, but I 100 percent agree with everything. We did figure out one trick where you can try one head first, and as long as you removed and placed it to the side carefully, you can put it back in if it wasn't the bad one. Then you can switch the other...

There is a setting you can turn on called ISM, it's designed for more reflective media. May not be enough for Holo but...
In theory you could disconnect the drain tubes from the pump cap and put a syringe on each tub. Then you could fill the caps with cleaning solution and it wouldn't drain through. Never tried it but it might work.

Something that can help diagnose is to print a test print immediately after you are running the job that's not printing properly.
