There you should have voltages for printheads. They are variable (14V to 28V). Check the J18 jumper, it should be set to 36 V. If it is, I would start with the new carriage board.
Voltages generated by the board may be measured across the specific capacitors:
- 5 V: C75 or C82
- 3.3 V: C77
- 2.5 V: C100
- 1.5 V: C110
Across C38 it's possible to measure the 36 V delivered by the power supply. If any of the above voltages are lower than specified, switch off the printer...
CMYK ribbon is printed as the rest of the file, so if the ribbon is ok, I would search in RIP options. Again, try to rip and print the same file with and without the profile. I know that the print without the profile will be flooded with colour, but the question is if it's even or grained.
And...
CMYK stripes on the left edge of the print look better than the printed graphics, am I correct? Have you tried to print with a different colour profile or without the profile at all? Try also to print pure CMYK solids with (if available anything similar, this is the option's name from the...
The carriage board buffers the printhead data drives the printhead and the Z-axis motor (carriage height), monitor the ink levels and reservoir temperature and drives the ink reservoir heater triac. If it fails during the initialization, it seems that the problem is with the board itself.
First...
In time coolant thickens (the water from it evaporates and therefore the liquid is thicker) - that's the reason to replace it once per year. Also, residues precipitate on the tubing walls and inside the pump, which reduces the flow and makes the pump work harder - as a result the pump may become...
You need to check:
- the coolant level
- possible leaks from the coolant pump
- heater on the coolant tank
- thermistors inside the heads (SDS required)
- heater behind the ink manifold
- when did you flush the coolant system and replace the coolant for the last time? It should be done once per...
Probably one of the thermistors inside the printhead is broken. Problem is, that it's inside the head and it's very difficult to replace/bypass it. You need an SDS key to check, which head has the wrong temperature reading.
All printers with two gantry motors have the "De-stress and square dual gantry drive" procedure described in the service manual. It's not easy and it's not recommended to be done by any other than a qualified service engineer. After this procedure, the next one ("XT gantry diagonal and origin...
Replacement of both parts is easy and service is not required. It's enough to have some technical skills and switch off the printer. And of course, you should have spare parts and know, where are located parts, which require replacement...
If you can't move the gantry with the new Firewire cable, the problem is somewhere else. It may be:
- gantry linear encoder scale
- gantry encoder read head
- gantry linear motor
- gantry PBA
- pulleys at both ends of the gantry belt
- gantry may also be not perpendicular to the table, which may...
I'm not sure if it's still available for old models like 360, but it was possible to buy from the Canon a service key limited to owned machine only. Maybe try to ask Canon?
An opinion about the lower printing quality than standard R2R machine is not mine - it comes from many RMO module users, which could compare this product with various types of the R2R UV machines. Printing width is another case - I agree that it's more than "standard R2R" (which means small R2R...
Maybe he thought about the Quality-Matte mode? This one is available only with Lc and Lm installed (6- or 8-channels), also Production-Fast is available only with LcLm inks. Fine Art is always available from the technical point of view, the profile is required in the RIP software, so maybe the...
Con: it's just one printer, when it's broken, you have no machine running.
Con (of the machines with RMO, i.e. Oce Arizona): printing on the roll has usually lower quality than the standard R2R printer.
I suppose that after 7 years he could not remember such details.
But to move the printer further than a few meters, to a different facility and so on (using anything else than the printer's own wheels) you should drain all systems in the printer (inks, coolant). Heads won't keep the negative...
