What are you getting a printhead doctor? Unfortunatelly 90% of the time if you have a bad head, your nozzles arent recoverable, as theyre damaged and not clogged. And the ones that are clogged require too much pressure to unclog, that the heads get destroyed in the process. We've tried...

  7. Onyx Printing Error with Print and Cut

You can do the upgrade, and if you don't likemotn/ have problems - you have 30 days to revert back to windows 10 before they delete the restore. I use 11 on my home PC.... But with a ton of tweaks. I hate the bottom, centered start bar.... So on all my production PC's I keep 10. 10 is more...
  8. Onyx Printing Error with Print and Cut

Have you tried making a copy of the quickset you know is working, then under cutter just select your graphtec version, you shouldn't need to change anything else - see if that works. ... Or you could just goto the quickset you know is working and enable graphtec, see if that works...then...
  9. Flatbed vs Roll, hot vs cold, too many options

I can't imagine laminating roll media on the flatbed that often. We do it when we need to laminate 60" but that's it.... Like once a month and we hate it. With a flatbed printing most of your printing will be direct to substrate I presume. So the roll to roll printer is going to be for stickers...
  10. Plotter woes

Outer ones should be tight and inner ones medium, we do intermediate marks on everything - not sure if you have them on... But it does increase accuracy a lot, especially on longer runs and in the middle of the print. Onyx can set them up automatically if that's what you're using - we can do...

  13. New Graphtec FC9000 using Onyx | Cut starting point

I found printing white with Flexi was much easier than doing it in onyx. Don't get me wrong... once you set onyx up to do it, its not hard - but flexi was designed more for beginners it seems... When we first got white, I played with onyx for an hour - I could only get onyx to do spot colors...
  14. New Graphtec FC9000 using Onyx | Cut starting point

If that's the case, you can always click the file in cut server, rotate it and save it and it should read it as rotated via barcode as well. Not the most elegant solution though! Would be nice if you could just print it rotated to begin with.

  17. FYI a way to fix laminator rollers with cuts instead of replacing...

Find a plastics / rubber manufacturer in your area. We have 3 within a 30 min drive - I think we paid $200 to have them put it on a lathe and shave it down past the cuts. Someone ran an olds through our laminator... Took a huge chunk the size of a quarter out of it... So we had to re-rubber...
  18. Employee side business

People are idiots with their money. We've had 4 wide format operators quit and start their own business - AFAIK they never had a side business before they quit, it was before my time - and maybe thats why my place is so open to letting people have a side business... If someone wants to, they're...

I lost my job doing IT stuff when there was a semi-crash in our area a close to a decade ago, and I panicked and looked for a job wherever I could find it, with the idea I'd get a job so I'm not screwed...then find a better suited job for myself when I had time. That job...
