  1. Looking for a cheap laminator just to mount film on rigid board

The biggest downfall is the up/ down on those things. If you have 50 signs to mount... Manually turning the handles to raise the bar is a pain. Have you looked into highway handyman's? Still a bit expensive. I believe I paid 1.5k for the 36" one. https://highwayhandyman.com/ The pneumatic...
  2. Show me your rack!

Aside from the normal rack which is for full skids of material, we fabricated these racks. They fit 10-20 4x8 sheets of Coro or other materials, easy to roll into shipping or to the next finishing department
  3. Work flow for printing movie poster sized art, desperately need mentoring!

True via would be best then. As long as you understand you won't have photographic quality prints on a solvent.. solvent printers are decent quality, but compared to aqueous you can easily tell the difference. Make sure to get a sample printed on the machines you're looking at to make sure...
  4. Work flow for printing movie poster sized art, desperately need mentoring!

Are you looking to print actual posters? If so... Get an aqueous printer. Like an Epson 9890, better quality and meant for printing on paper. A solvent is more for vinyl, not posters
  5. Best printer for murals

The Epson resin is great. I've done tons of wraps, wall murals, stickers. It's like a latex but better... No color inconsistency, I've used it in +30c and minus 15c and there's no shifts. Printed a 10 ft by 100 ft mural and everything aligned perfectly. No complaints are from its a huge heater...
  6. How many continuous hours of printing?

Yikes, definately a pain to install. I imagine stretching it even a hair to align would distort those lines pretty good... So you'd need bang on alignment with no stretching from the beginning. Definately not an easy job!
  7. RIP questions re: importing many files and print/cut workflow

Could you not do a variable import in illustrator? Your list of excel files links to the sku + filename. Illustrator batch file to automatically import the file, resize artboard, then Save it to a different folder, or a quickset folder. Quickset folder then imports the file, and it's setup...
  8. How to increase sales in 2022!

Isn't messing with election signs a federal offense there? Yup here in Canada is a big deal, huge fine and jail time. Alot more serious than just destruction of property. One guy had a 4x8 sign put infront of his house, on the easement the city owns. He didn't like the candidate so he took it...
  9. How to increase sales in 2022!

You'd think someone would suggest some anti graffiti overlam or something....
  10. A sign related food subject......................................................................................

Took the day off and took the wife out for lunch today. Pub by our place makes yummy food for cheap... Baseball steak!
  11. Fun Situation.

Well, to be fair we're talking about how the guy feels like he's entitled to the artwork because he bought some signs off of you... but you feel like you own it and he's crazy for thinking how he does. so I'm just pointing out you feel like you should be able to use anyones copyrighted images...
  12. Fun Situation.

Legally you can print a Mickey mouse and take a shit on it and throw it up on YouTube with the permission of the artist. However Disney is the artist / rights holder - someone can't come along and create some fan art and then give you permission to print it, they didn't have the legal right to...
  13. Fun Situation.

Legally you can not re create artwork for personal use if someone else made it. There is no "I didn't proffit of of it" clause. Plus... Im pretty sure I saw dozens of a few things... but even still, a lot of it is advertising what you can do and using it as examples, so you're using it to...
  14. Fun Situation.

Did you pay Disney for all the designs of theirs that you're using and profiting off of? Thats what I mean when I say you post publicly on a forum...and when someone googles your name, they'll find out everything you wrote. I wanted to see if I could find this ice rink in your gallery... I...
  15. Fun Situation.

Another example. Some guy bought a SWB Set and frame off of me - It was $210, my cost is like $50 in material and the frame. He sent me a .docX wordpad file with the artwork his wife made.... It opened up completely screwed, and it wasnt the right layout he wanted. We went back and fourth...
  16. Fun Situation.

There's always 2 sides to every story, don't forget! Non proffit, "donation", etc keeps getting thrown around... But he made $8400 off of them. The donation was his time in artwork. We never give anything away for free... But if someone is buying $8400 worth of signs off us, usually artwork is...
  17. A sign related food subject......................................................................................

Poutine... Even if it's food court poutine. Still the best type of fries ever!
  18. Is a UV Printer The Only Way?

The white is awesome. I love the white and the latex technology... But hate the 700 series, can t match a panel for the life of me. The new Epson resin(latex) has all the benefits of latex... With epsons reliability / quality. No panel or color issues so far.... Hoping they steal the latex...
  19. Fun Situation.

If some guy asked us to design some signs for him, then asked for the artwork and didn't want any signs, I'd see your point. But OP made signs for this guy a year ago - The guys a non profit... OP's thought process is he could always ship the signs back to the guy... But lets be realistic...
  20. Fun Situation.

Do you guys do low res proofs? If our source file is a vector... So is our proofs. We re-size it for a 8.5 x 11 proof page... But anyone could just open our proof in Illustrator and grab the graphics out of it. No password protections, nothing. We do have a 50% Deposit on new non established...
