  4. Need Suggestions on upgrading our UV Flatbed Printer and Flatbed Cutter

I have a Summa F1612 and an Epson V7000. They both have been awesome!! But yes, UV ink will smell. Definitely look into the Epson too.
  5. Has anyone here figured out how to get into the Summa service page?

Make sure the bed is SUPER clean!!! Vacuum it good and blow out any debris under it the best you can. ;)
  6. Plastic license plates

I could router/laser engrave them, but they will be a lot more than a printed plate.
  7. SureColor V7000 10-Color 4' x 8' UV Flatbed Printer

I have had one since March. It has been awesome for me! The rip that it comes with is okay, but I am so used to Caldera. I have been using Caldera with mine almost since I got it. The quality is amazing!!! I get very good quality prints in the "speed" mode, which takes maybe 8 minutes to do a...

  10. We are about to purchase a Summa f1612 need advice

I have found with the single edge knife, you have to raise the height in Axis Control as it sets it way too low. Once I did that, it has worked awesome! I still agree, the tips can snap easily. I try not to run it across the belts glue seam. I have the front extension on mine and not too...
  11. UV printer rash

UV ink in liquid form is very bad to get on your skin. I ended up putting in an air exchanger and 2 large carbon filters to get rid of the smell and fumes. I think I spent around $5k, but it was so worth it!
  12. Adhesion promoter recommendation for EcoVU inks

I don't have a Roland, but I have had good luck with these. I get them from Grimco. https://supply55.com/uv-adhesion-promoters/
  13. HP Latex VS Canon UV

I ended up going with the Epson V7000. The print quality is amazing!! I can't comment on speed as that has never been a concern being a 1 man shop. I hit print and go something else. It has white/varnish so you can do layering. Although Epson currently does not have the fancy software for making...
  14. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

When I got my new Epson V7000 installed, the room it was in smelled bad. My wife complained the day I came home after they inked it up. I have a small shop, so my design area was in the large room with print equipment. I ended up moving my design area to the front and adding 2 large charcoal...
  15. We are about to purchase a Summa f1612 need advice

I totally agree! It is a flatbed cutter that can route! Bugging Summa about my list of GoProduce requests, which 99% are for the router which many you mentioned, is a constant thing for me. There are some very basic router functions that they desperately need to add! One big one being the...
  16. We are about to purchase a Summa f1612 need advice

I have cut out 1/2" acrylic without any issues. I have some 3/4" I am going to cut for a personal project... if I ever get around to it. haha Let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to help.
  17. Summa OPOS marks in Adobe Illustrator 2022 for Mac?

I have actually just made a swatch pallet for the dot and arrow. Then I like placing them myself. I like to have them a little tighter anyways to save material.
  18. We are about to purchase a Summa f1612 need advice

The standard router can cut acrylic just fine. ;)
  19. Question about the router on the Summa F series

They seem like a decent machine to me from what I have looked at them. Just helping you explore all of your options. ;)
