  1. Logo design feedback

Thanks for that info on the tree. I will say that the tree makes it a bit cluttered, but I'm not sure what to do about it - maybe make the tree smaller and put it to the side? As for the color, blue was his request. No.
  2. Logo design feedback

He specifically requested to use the font, but I don't know if he is set on using it. I've got some new fonts to play with, so..... Current "logo" is this, which is where the Scriptina request came from. It was just something whipped together when the website was set up. It comes from the...
  3. Logo design feedback

Hi, guys! How about some feedback on this logo design? It's for a custom pen company located in South Carolina. The customer, among with some other ideas, wanted an ink blot, so I came up with this ink blot with a twist. Comments and critiques welcome! Business card Front/Back Logo engraved...
  4. UPS/Battery back-up

Theoretically, it would be possible, but the flatbed would have to support it in the controller. The UPS could just power the control system, and when a power failure occurs, the controls would remain active to allow a safe shutdown of the UV lamps and the rest of the printer. The UV lamps...
  5. Remodeled Website

    :thumb:Looks more professional now!
  6. Remodeled Website

The layout is fine, but IMHO, the brushed background makes the content hard to read. The black letters get kind of lost against the gray background. Even if it was solid gray it might make it easier to read, because the texture competes with the letters.
  7. Is there a way to auto nest multiple objects inside one shape?

Even though SAi says this about FlexiDESIGNER, it is not true. FlexiDESIGNER does not have some features FlexiSIGN-PRO has. A few I've noticed (on FlexiDESIGNER Cloud 11 sp6) include true-shape nesting and i-cut marks.
  8. Curious about Graphic Tablets... or some such item

I use a Huion H580. It doesn't have quite all the features of a Wacom, but it is far less of an outlay if you just want to try it out. The main differences between it and a Wacom are a pen with batteries, and no tilt/rotation sensing. It works quite well on Windows 7 and it also works (with a...
  9. Where to buy card stock, cardboard, paperboard, etc.

Anyone got any recommendations for a supplier of cardboard, card stock, paperboard, etc.? It seems all our current suppliers are just into plastics, no paper-based products.
  10. Cutting French cleats - Q's....

What have you been reading? You don't have to replace the $4k saw every time the safety goes off!:omg: Just a ~$80 cartridge plus the blade. A whole lot cheaper than a missing finger!
  11. Vegas Gold

Here's the RGB/CMYK/LAB/etc. values for vegas gold. I highly doubt that there is a spot color foil exactly that color. Imitation gold may be worth a shot... http://www.99colors.net/name/vegas-gold
  12. Actual font size setting

I use this script. It goes off of the height of a capital M. Rename it to be a .jsx file before you try to install it. P.S. Did you search in the Adobe Illustrator forums? Your question is quite common. https://forums.adobe.com/community/illustrator
  13. Are there any merchant's that print and contour cut vehicle magnets

Anyone with a flatbed cutter should be able to do it. I've successfully through-cut ProMag magnetics, but Gerber AutoMag I couldn't - it was too thin and stretched from the force of the blade. I had to score & tear it to get it to work.
  14. FLEXI CC Alien Skin plug in issue

Flexi needs 32bit plugins. You do not need the 32bit version of Photoshop installed. IIRC, there is an button in the Eye Candy installer that allows you to select and install plugins for versions of Photoshop that you do not have, otherwise it just installs for Photoshop versions that you have...
  15. New to flatbed

We cut 4mm corrugated plastic with our Kongsberg iXL24 cutter, both contour-cut and rectangular. It makes nice, clean cuts; and has very little deflection when cutting across the flute walls even when the cut is nearly parallel to the flute. The cuts are way nicer than from our CNC, which we...
  16. Designing a table out of foam core with glue, screws or nails

Nice table. If I may ask, what software do you use to design stuff like this? I suppose you could do it all 2D and flat, but do you use special software that takes care of making sure everything fits together?
  17. Zund cutter templates

I'd also be interested in something like this. I am also researching POP/POS display design software. One site I found was this: http://www.istockpack.com/index.php. There's not very many items on it, though.
  18. Calling all Wasatch SoftRIP users

Is there anyone here who has successfully set up SoftRIP to output to a cutter with i-cut? SoftRIP and i-cut are not working together properly for me. Wasatch tells me it is i-cut, and Esko tells me it is Wasatch!:banghead::banghead: Long story short, I have to rotate everything output from...
  19. i-cut and SoftRIP problems

We just got a (new for us) used Kongsberg iXL24 table, and I am trying to get it to work with Wasatch SoftRIP. SoftRIP generates cut files just fine, but they are not rotated properly. When I open a cut file in i-cut, the cut paths are rotated 90° from where they should be in reference to the...
  20. Hello from PA

I've been lurking here for a few months, and I figured I'd say hello. I run an Agfa Anapurna m4f, and I just got a new toy - a (new for us) Kongsberg iXL24 that I'm trying to set up.
