just put the dampers in an ultrasonic. they will come out shiny white.
  2. ::::Mimaki Megenta Half head blocked::::

if he pulled a vacuum at the waste line first he might have been able to determine if there was vapor lock inside of your head. and your dampers could have been fine to go for the next year or more. this type of stuff will happen to your printer on a regular basis. i encourage you to learn...
  3. Vinyl Express III 72" eco solvent

yes. you will be the columbus of asian market printers. don't be discouraged if there are issues and no support. these machines are all functionally the same. i'm sure the basic clogs and air leaks will be there just like any other printer. and don't be embarrassed if it doesn't work like a...
  4. Mathews paint reacting with uv ink

still concerned if you have everything you'll need. such as do you have any kind of adhesion promoter? some inks have built in silicone to aid in scratch resistance. if you are in a pinch you can get a spray bulldog promoter auto parts supply stores in the pait section. but if you need to do...
  5. Best Value for Flatbed Printers

CET also makes a really nice belt flatbed printer. the printer was really great looking. and do avoid the "pinch roller" flatbed. i have been using a really nice set up with down hill air tables and can run 100lb stock through it (modified jv3 160sp) but still you will never ever ever ever...
  6. Mathews paint reacting with uv ink

the mathews is too "hot" for it. your best bet is to clear the uv ink with a coating that is solvent resistant but also does not have the "hot" issue. such as you could spray it with polycrylic (water based floor finish). water based clears are more solvent resistant then ketone based...
  7. JV33 prm file

    vedy entadesting.... muaaahaaaaahaaaaa!!!!
  8. ::::Mimaki Megenta Half head blocked::::

you have to diagnose it. put the black ink lines/dampers onto the magenta manifold. do a normal clean or pull lightly at the waste line. then to a test pattern. if you get black at the magenta head, they you have an issue from the dampers back. if black doesn't work at that position, then...
  9. JV33 prm file

i have a question for the jv33 gurus out there. if i was to buy a jv33 130 and gut it, can the parameters be changed in order to lie to the printer and set it as a jv33 260? i'm currently gutting an encad 850 onto an 84" gantry to test the concept of home built flatbeds. seems to me...
  10. JV3-160SP Conversion 6 to 4 color and few more questions

the basic thing is to keep them in pairs top to top bottom to bottom. do not do bottom port to top port, etc. in the end it's like putting a left shoe on a right foot and vice versa.

  14. Mimaki JV3-130SPII

you never need to replace a mother board. in fact a slider or mother board issue is a lot less expensive than a head going out. if it's damaged, pull it and send it to macmedia for repair.
  15. JV3-160SP Conversion 6 to 4 color and few more questions

couple things. just scroll through the maintanence menu...i you see the section for inksets and it gives you a four color option then you are set. don't press it until you are ready. the machine can not reverse out of this choice! the cyan looks like data. i have a head doing that right...
  16. $4500 CNC....even cuts concrete

very nice design. unfortunately, for this guy, not something that won't be imitated easily.
  17. JV3-160SP Conversion 6 to 4 color and few more questions

for one the cyan is toast. you can do some data swaps to see if that bend moves to a new channel but i doubt it will. with it like that you will need avoid variable dot and you can get some decent output. as far as the switching ink set to CMYKx2 don't do it the way the manual explains...
  18. JV33 prm file

    there is no 3.10. there's 3.20? and i don't mean i don't have it. i mean it doesn't exist.
  19. Vinyl Express III 72" eco solvent

gagagooey... $6500 for dual. that is way less than i was quoted about six months ago. you could use an agent? but from what i've encountered is horror stories from rough shot or fictitious websites run by criminals. considering wit-color is a major company distributed throughout china and...
  20. Looking for a Mimaki tech...

just a reminder, when a tech comes to fix your printer and it's board related, keep those broken boards. for a simple (non-emergency) $200 repair by macmedia they can be sitting in your shop as spare parts. zapped slider boards are about a 30 minute shut down if you have one handy. ... on...
