  1. Roland support question

I'm located in Houston, 20 min from gsg that supports roland. Last week I had my first out of warranty and warranty experience. Out of warranty - I sent an email on Sunday, Tuesday the tech did the repairs (new head etc) Warranty - while the tech was on the non warranty job I let him know of...
  2. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

What's up with the mortar oozing out of those bricks, that's what everyone will be noticing, not the sign
  3. Question Upgrade for Epson S80600

I had a similar decision to make as you , had a Roland VS going trouble free for 6 years, then came time to upgrade and everyone was saying get an epson. I stuck with roland and got 2 SG-2 , wanted the vg but the lead times were too long, were also long on the epsons when I was buying a year...
  4. Need help from really experienced Roland techs.

also using a narrower material like 30" could help since the result is ok one one side and gets worse on the other side
  5. Need help from really experienced Roland techs.

are you loading the material as straight as possible into the cutter? have you tried not doing a registration mark of every single circle?
  6. Question Upgrade for Epson S80600

Hmm that's interesting, I'm reading this thread doing research on printers to see what I might upgrade my Roland sg2 with if they can't keep up and I can do 3 150ft rolls at 7 pass at low quality which looks great. I was thinking the 80600 would be faster like 5-6 rolls in 24hrs
  7. Semi Trailer Price - Help

Point this out to your material supplier and demand a lower price, low material prices aren't just going to show up, you have to put some work in to get the best price
  8. Roland BN-20 White Ink

I have a vs300 (same inks as the bn20) that was set up with metallic and white inks, totally useless imo as the metallic and white clogged within the first two ink carts used. Now I've just had cleaning cartriges in there for 7 years. Finally going to change the head and go to dual CMYK...
  9. COROPLAST FOOTBALL HELMETS MEGAPHONES

There is a shortage of contour cut lines, I'm getting told beginning of September is when adobe will get more in, haven't checked with corel though so they might have some ready
  10. Help finding wholesale trade companies stretched canvas print

I find this incredibly hard to believe. I sell on Amazon and Walmart and just did a quote for that size box as an inbound shipment to FBA and Walmart fulfillment centers, for these inbound shipment we get the "Amazon and Walmart volume" rates as in $3.50 to send in a 10lb box via ups or fed ex...
  11. For Owners/Managers

Only meetings we have is to eat birthday cake.
  12. Discussion Shop/labor/machine rates

For me it depends on how busy we are, when very busy I don't do any discounts, prices go up a little when I quote, if not busy I'd rather do a job at a discount than risk not getting it due to price.
  13. Roland TrueVis VG2-640 Issues

I've been running 2 sg2 last 9 months (8hr per day at least) and have been trouble free. A friend has a 5 month old sg2 where the scan motor started making odd noises and roland replaced the motor. I know it's the opposite of info you're looking for but just throwing it out there to show there...
  14. Roland temperature

I see no difference in printing at 60 degrees f to 90 degrees f with very low to very high humidity and everything in between. i turn off ac/heater when we're not at the shop so it can be as cold as 40 degrees or as hot as 90 when I start the printers and there is no difference
  15. What Price for Vinyl Only?

Something repetitive and easy to weed like this project I would just charge 3x of the material cost (vinyl/transfer tape) but remember you are bidding and if you want to win you might want to be a little more aggressive with pricing, even doing this at 2x of material might be worth it to someone
  16. cleaning on its own

    Normal
  17. Help finding wholesale trade companies stretched canvas print

The most difficult thing I've found with stretched canvas is the shipping cost, safely shipping a 48"x36" 30x20 and 40x30 will cost more than the material and labor cost in the canvas. that's why they cost so much. A 50" x 38" x 4" box is major dimensional weight, I just did a UPS quote and...
  18. Shop Pics

Messy = busy , if we have time to clean = not good. added a new peice of equipment today, 144" keencut. Can't wait to make a huge pile of trimmings tomorrow.
  19. Safe temperatures for storing sign equipment ***

My ac can barely keep it at 82 degrees when it's close to 100 outside here in Houston. No issues with materials, only time I get problems with tranfer tape from high humidity is when it's low 70s outside and not hot enough to run the ac.
