  3. Is the Google spell checker spying on me?

I just noticed that when I use the Google spell check feature, that my internet connection icon turns to active when I use it. So, being that they are the biggest info vaccuum in the universe..are they reading and storing the info when I use that feature??? Thanks. Ken
  4. Need to Vent

A venting fan in the wall close to the machine should do it. We just use mild solvent inks here and dont vent at all. I might open the doors and windows when I want to heat up the outdoors. Cheers! Ken
  5. Designing, CMYK or RGB?

I export files as RGB, usually as a .tiff file. The RIP does the rest. Makes large files though. Corel to Versacamm via Colorip v.2 I sometimes have to tweak a color here and there, but pretty minimal. Cheers! Ken
  6. Help need advise, Please.

Mr & Ms Buckeye..welcome to Signs 101... Problem with printed output is the longevity. Many clients do not like the idea of having to replace the graphics after only 3 years. Cut vinyl will double (or better) the lifespan. Printer/plotter should be the same size. The laminator should be a...

  10. Photoshop?

The interplay between the Adobe software should naturally lead you to stay in that family. Just the way they like it. I'm a Corel user mostly. Pixellated gradients on the SP300? Does this happen on vector or raster files? Export as a .tiff file for the RIP, using RGB. If you start with a...
  11. windows xp update

You can also specify which of the updates you want to implement. In the update function you tell it to notify you of available updates, you choose which ones. Ken
  12. Hello All. Trying to learn about printing/laminating

Welcome from BC. Printing on the back of a clear surface may seem like the better 0ne-step process but I'm thinking that with repeated touching, the ink will be abraded on the lower surface. I think a top laminate may be better. Cheers! Ken
  13. What best describes your location?

I voted home-based but the shop is actually on the adjacent property..a 30 second commute. I really would like to have a drive-in bay for vehicles. Cheers! Ken
  14. May as well jump in!

Contract service work... I suppose if someone showed up in my neck of the woods with this idea, it would get my antennae twitching..but it really boils down to making it a win-win-win ( price, service, quality)... Good luck...Ken

  19. Start-Up

All the above advice is good..I just want to mention that the (my) sp 300 has a great feature that prevents the heads from clogging. It fires up once a day, gives a couple of quick shots of ink thru the heads, then shuts down. You dont even have to be there. IMHO, you could start with just a...
