Great machine. Varnish is a waste of a channel. Double white is the way to go. pretty simple, reliable machine IMO. the RMO is also simply good.
  6. What speed(s) do you actually run your Colorado’s at?

No banding, although i run it in "robust" print pattern which is ever so slightly slower i believe. I got some zebra banding in normal mode. Gamut is good. more than happy with it. We average 1000-1500SQM a week, depending the media width we run. It's already at capacity and we've had it for...
  7. What speed(s) do you actually run your Colorado’s at?

It really depends on the job. We mostly run it at Matte speed.
  8. ICC Gamut viewing (3D) Software / Colorthink pro alternative?

Actually it does! and i forgot about it. Although the reason i forgot about it is in Onyx, it was lacking as i could only use it for current media profiles. I'll have a look at it again. Thanks for the reminder.

  10. ICC Gamut viewing (3D) Software / Colorthink pro alternative?

Im looking for a gamut viewing/mapping software (3D) to compare ICC profile colour gamuts in 3D and other configs. Similar to colorthink pro, but with out all the aditional features which i'll never use. Also has to be something modern, not designed for windows XP. not overly priced either...

  12. Needs some suggestion for printer purchase

How about before purchasing equipment. You start off outsourcing your work and see if you can actually get any rather than spending money on equipment you’ll use once a week or so and let them cost you money over time. you and your buddies should first find a trade printer. then start looking...

hyperthreading? pretty much any new consumer processor has that these days.
  14. Which RIP software do you use ?

I don't use labelling, but i believe that's improved. Swatchbooks are better (for me anyway) as it allows me to print and measure patches with my barberi devices. much faster rip times allows for multi threading. Probably other improvements. You can just get the 30 day trial and try for yourself.
  15. Suggestions on sub 4' flat bed printer

    Find a new supplier.
  16. Which RIP software do you use ?

Well yes, if you want faster ripping times, you need a better processor. Not so much RAM. Im not sure how caldera work with how many images it can RIP at once, but onyx will do 2 files per printer licence. if you have 1 printer, it'll RIP 2 files at a time. 2 printer licences, 4 files at a time...
  17. Suggestions Looking for a laptop to run Versaworks. Best option??

My question is, why a Laptop for a RIP? get a dedicated PC for a RIP station which ends up being faster and cheaper than a laptop. Thing is, you can buy an "i7" but hat i7, is it a low powered 4 core version found in thin&light laptops? or is it a high end "H" version with 6-8 cores found in...

  19. Question ICC profile creaton in i1 Profiler for a Epson SC80600

To get the LAB colours, all you do is measure the ink colour with the i1pro. that's what it does. you would go from the darkest patch i believe from your ink restrictions. All you'll need to do is provide LAB colours for orange and red. Cyan & light cyan are classified as "cyan" you change the...
