  1. What should I learn from this?

The problem with windex..... and certain other cleaners is that it has ammonia in it... and that interferes with the adhesives. Sometimes it might not, but you are taking chances, especially with lesser grade vinyls. If you hafta use windex, give it a good alcohol bath or two afterwards.
  2. What should I learn from this?

Remember, reputations are built over a long period of time. Not buying the correct vinyl is your fault. Not prepping properly is your fault. Using wrong chemicals is your fault. Not applying vinyl with proper technique is your fault. Going way beyond your comfort zone is your fault. I...
  3. What should I learn from this?

You did many things wrong. Never, as in never, use windex. Wash with good soap and water, then an alcohol bath. The mud build up is oxidation and needs to be completely removed by washing and washing thoroughly. On vehicles, you use cast, not intermediate. Regardless of having enough room...
  4. Substrate question

Bebond from glantz is their economy and cheap stuff..... or it used to be, unless they renamed it. When it's too thin, it doesn't work well on our flatbed. Too flimsy. We like .012. Even .008 will work, but why chance it ?? As for Laminators..... they're right down the road from me, so...

Onesies and twosies is $55 a sheet. Get 10 and ya receive a small discount. I stopped stocking the sh!t and other things and use the distributors as my warehouse. I don't want money sitting on my shelves.

  7. Good evening folks, looooong time lurker here

Is it really necessary for your end-user ?? That's what determines what equipment you need. If you're going roland, you should be good with the 4 color. Find your niche and make it count as business picks up and you find your golden ring. You do need a laminator.
  8. Client refusing payment

We hardly have anybody who doesn't wish to pay in many many years. However, occasionally, it happens. Those people/companies are handled quite professionally and we always win. The area in which I live and conduct business is a kinda rough area and is getting worse by the day. Those as I...
  9. Client refusing payment

The louisville is in plain sight, all the time. It becomes a talking point many times. Then, I tell them about my more up-to-date .38 The .357 is not in plain sight. I'm not a f*ckin' dummy.
  10. Substrate question

Oh, malted shakes are great, too. That's why what I posted is called a fountain soda brown cow. Ice cream float or soda was the common name and coke cola was generally used.
  11. Substrate question

Gotta have the real malt. Root beer is too sweet with those drinks in my opinion. I mean it's all sweet, that's just toooo much sweet.
  12. Substrate question

Growing up, we mostly went into the corner store and got up on the stools at the soda fountain. One could really get what ya wanted that way. Double cheery or vanilla and whatever in with your cola and maybe even ice cream in it at the end. Oh, a brown cow. I liked mine with coke, not root beer.
  13. Question Lightbox Printing Questions

If we can't use a double hit with the flatbed, we do an overprint with the roland. One hit is just no good at night. Triple hit is way too dark during the day. 2 hit is just right. Kinda like goldilocks, except we don't eat the sign later.

  17. Complaint Department...

People like that, think for the moment, and the moment only. They have no plan of overall action and their only focus is..... the moment. Just like the majority of people here. You'll see someone answer one way and an hour later contradict themselves because they have no basis for anything...
  18. On a scale of 1 to 10

When I was a kid, we didn't have any television, but I had a 45 record player and could play stuff and listen to that. I learned a lot listening to those things. I also had a pez dispenser, but without a fancy head on it.
  19. On a scale of 1 to 10

Speaking of seagulls..... if ya've been listening, have ya ever seen them picking eyes and skin apart on a person ?? Terrible. Reminds me of hitchcock. :sleepin:
