  1. Wrap install pricing

I believe members want to discuss prices in the members only area, as to avoid customers seeing what we are discussing. Makes sense. Good luck!
  2. New store opening.

Of course! It is a good habit for us, but we have our machines so dialed in, we never really have issues. Complacency is a ***** sometimes!
  3. To Be.... or Not To Be...................

My two cents is it will be effective, if it is a good design. I have witnessed time and time again, a shop wrapping their first vehicle, they start driving it around town, and conversations just start out of no where. That will be pretty typical for you as well. It invites people to ask you...
  4. New store opening.

Customer demanded Papyrus, also showed us a swirly she liked, so we had to build the circular logo from that. This was pretty much customer driven. However, I will say this. I am printing at the moment, and the colors are turning out quite rich and dark. Like the transparencies are way to dark...
  5. New store opening.

So (cough, cough) most know I am not a designer, but this is in house here. double sided banner, and brick wall banner. we (wife and I) designed the banner and logo. Customer is happy, so that is what matters I suppose.

Good job man, that stuff is not for inpatient people. I did a job recently for an amusement park. What I was supplied was 14 small scans of original Charles Schultz Peanut comics. They were to be made into 5'x? back-lit signs. So of course we had to vectorize them, send for approval, tweak...

That makes pretty logical sense about the titles, I'll give it a try. Thanks for taking the time.

I've tried wordpress a few times, I do like it bit I don't think I could get the look I wanted due to lack of understanding how to customize within the system. The CMS I am using for this site is called livesite and has been perfect for my skill level, which is simply novice.

So I put a grunge look to it, hoping to shake the template feel a bit. I realize the grunge is a bit dated, but I just like that style I guess. Does it hurt or help?
  10. Advanced skill value...

My advice would be finding a struggling sign company, but make sure the owner is in it to win it, and partner up. Option 2, go to the bank and get a loan and make it happen. If you are decent at all the above skills, you should have no problem carving a piece of whatever market you end up moving...
  11. Insufficient Memory Error in CS5 Illy

Also in some cases, and this may not be your case, even small sized files that are filled with effects and filters can cripple illustrator. I try to have at least 6 gb of memory in my design pc's Also many aren't aware of the amount of memory adobe version cue takes up. If you have version cue...

Interesting idea about the page header graphic being a small slide. Thanks.

Btw, when the company is done with your site, I hope you share it. Good luck with it. I think the absolute hardest part is copy, and where to place it.

Wow, any idea what that is in PC?

Not sure that is an option when saving jpg in photoshop. I'll check. I think what I did though, is when saving it I lowered the quality to 5 or something like that instead of leaving it at 9 through 12.

Wow, not sure I am into it that much to work from utter scratch. I suppose that is one way to do it. I actually did customize the site to how I like it, so I am happy with most of it. My biggest hang up right now is the content of the home page under the ad banner, and the other hang up is...

I agree. Under the ad banner area I have been contemplating what to put there. I am working on a couple ideas now. One idea is to make it three columns, one column for recent project, another column for case studies, and a third column for I dunno yet. Or I could do it like yours, yours is nice...

    Makes sense.

I see, yeah I will need to swap that text out and save it as a higher quality jpeg. Thanks.

I got some feedback from another community to get rid of all the underlines on the links, and simply add a color to the links. I used the code in the CSS to do that. a { text-decoration: none; } I think it does look cleaner.
