What you need to do is take one of your 300ppi files and crop out a section, say 52" x 12" Make sure you have text and high contrast areas. Save a 300ppi, 200ppi, 150ppi. 75ppi, 50ppi, 30ppi (dont change the size of the print, just the ppi) print them and you will have a better understanding...

Most profiles have ink limits of 220% or less, and the more ink you put down the more it costs. Using 100 each of CMYK is expensive and you never know which and/or what combo of colors the profile will clip to get to the 220. My black is C 60 M 30 Y 0 K 100 (why would you use yellow in black?)...

We have an APC with readout on our Roland SC 540 Pro II and on not printing it was running 33 watts. I turned the power off on front panel, not main, and it was running between 0 and 1 watt. Quite a savings. The Roland does do a semi sleep mode when not in use after a certian amount of time...

Guess that would help. Its been so long I haven't looked at our banner profiles actual dpi. Printing on standard 4 pass. Guessing it is 720.

We didn't trust the numbers Roland quoted on our SC 540 Pro II, so we weighed our in carts, printed 4 4x10 full coverage (mostly black) banners. Then, weighed the carts again. Using 440ml carts at $115 each it worked out to $.61 per sq ft.
