  6. Looking to get a CNC router

No offense, but I think useing it as a glorified jigsaw is great. While we do a lot of dimentional stuff with it, one of the best things about it is never having to cut a pattern and hand cut a sign. Better yet all the signs are perfect, multiple shapes match exactly. If I never cut a...
  7. Looking to get a CNC router

We looked at Gerber, AXYZ & Multi-Cam when we bought our router, I think the Gerber is a good machine but extremely overpriced I think the other two are very comparable machines but the Multi-Cam guys gave us better deal so thats what we ended up with. I have been really pleased with the...
  8. What do you guys think?

Thank You, I was thrilled to get one of my signs in a competition that had so many great signs. Kevin
  9. What do you guys think?

I was not saying that you are wrong on this particular sign, I just don't agree with OP's statement that upper & lowercase is "amateur". I just felt that you guys were painting all situations with the same brush, I think there is a time & place for both. Only time and experiance will teach you...
  10. What do you guys think?

Old Paint, I also belive that you are wrong. You and techman should both look at this years portfolio in Sign Business magazine, many signs in there have upper and lower main copy and I don't think you could say any of them look bad or are not effective. There are a lot of times when all caps...
  11. Ordered a Router!

When you start using the cnc you will never know how you made signs without it. We looked at axzy's before we bought our Multi-Cam they would have been our second choice. Good Luck! Kevin

  16. Suppliers in Pittsburgh

Pioneer all the way!! I order 80% of my stuff from Pioneer, the prices are usally as cheap as anyone and I have always gotten good service. I would recommend then highly. Kevin
  17. MBX Vinyl Zapper

Mine is basicly a $450.00 dust collecter, it is very easy to get that yellow haze on white paint, try to move fast and don't push hard. I bought mine with the intention or using it to remove vinyl on a fleet of fiberglass box trucks, but I soon realized that by the time I got done I would have...
  18. Routing Gatorboard

Thank You Thanks a lot for the info, I'm going to rout some today. Kevin
  19. Routing Gatorboard

Have any of you ever cut Gatorboard on a cnc? Being that it has a paper face I was just wondering if it will cut it or rip it and leave a torn edge. If any of you have done this what feed rate & spindle speed did you use? I think I will go ahead and try it and see what happens, but any advice...

Way to go! CNC's are great, we've had our Multicam with Artcam software for about 4 yrs. and have never regretted it. There is nothing like cutting out a shape in 10 min without touching a jigsaw. Good Luck!!! Kevin
