  1. Epson GS6000

We've found this to be true on both of ours as well. We can go 100 feet in to a 150' roll with no problem but then the media starts to buckle. We gave up on using the supplied take up reel.
  2. Help choosing next RIP -- Wasatch or Onyx??

Caldera Give Caldera a shot. www.caldera.eu It's well written, easy to use and very fast. It runs on Linux (or the Mac) but don't let that scare you. Once you get it down it's a slick piece of software. We've also run Onyx (moved to Caldera from Onyx 7.3.2-- it was a great, we just liked...

Looking to see if anyone has a Roland XJ-540/640/740 machine that they'd be interested in parting with. Best if it was newer (less than 18 months) and was in good, working condition. Send me a PM here if you have one. Thanks
  8. Summa cutters distributors

The Summa guys at ISA said that the network is pretty much gone with the fall of Tekgraf who was their Master Distributor. It sounded like Summa was planning on running on their own for a while. You didn't say what you were looking for. I've never owned one of their printers, so I don't know...

  11. Print Laminate Cut

At some point VersaWorks had a bug where you couldn't both center everything on the media AND hit "Get Media Width" after loading the laminated media. I've not used VersaWorks in a while so I don't know if they ever fixed it, but it was on the bug list for a while. Nope-- it's still there...

  14. Epson GS6000 or Mutoh 1614

Not sure how your RIP is setup, but the GS6000 does indeed have a Wave pattern. It makes extensive used of it. They licensed it from Mutoh- probably one of the many reasons that Mutoh is the one that builds the GS6000. Also-- are you using anything other than the Very Light Cleaning mode? It...

  20. Triangle Inks - To move or not to move.

That's always fair... as I said above you have to actually use it. I think if you left any ink sitting in the printer you'd eventually have problems. There is also a big difference in 3rd party. I don't know all of them, but there sure seem to be many different brands... I like Triangle...
