  1. Thank You John Butto

So I get a message this morning to look at something here at signs101, What a privilege to get a hand drawn rendering of me from John. I really love this forum, it may not be evident with my lack of postings lately, but I have made so many friends here and love sharing the craft of sign...

Very cool sign... ------ Congratulations PW Great job Chris!!!
  4. No Parking sign

Usually on a sign like this, there are requirements like letter height, code references and exact copy requirements. I would ask the city what those requirements are, or if you do tow a car without the correct legal sign, you may be responsible for the cost of a towed car and other costs incurred.

  14. ADA questions

Anything that identifies the room, whether numbers or room description requires braille and tactile. If the sign has a room number AND description, you can choose to just do the number.
  15. ADA questions

The sign MOZE is showing is somewhat deceiving The room number on his sample probably should be raised numbers with braille. The "Registration 1" does not need to be raised or require braille if the number is complaint. If it was required to be ADA compliant, "REGISTRATION 1" would be all caps.
  16. goin to school for graphic design

Maybe for some sign shops... You do not get proficient by knowing the tools, just like a pencil or brush, you get proficient by practice. Graphic design is not about what tool was used to make it, but the process in which it came about and the use of form and content...
  17. goin to school for graphic design

As long as they are past the bumfluff stage, they might actually be amused...
  18. goin to school for graphic design

I agree with Dan on where you want to be in 5 years... One thing, going to school to learn software makes no sense... you push a mouse.. and click. A degree based on mouse clicking makes as much sense as majoring in pencil. I would try lynda.com for that. Basic principles in design, developing...

  20. How much time will you spend on a Proposal?

I have done quite a few apartment projects across the country... 10-20k is a pretty small budget for a complete package. Some of these larger project can get up to the 150-200k range depending on the scope. I can spend 80-120 hours on one project from the initial survey to designing it, to...
