  1. Please help identify

Oh my god I had a froyo customer who did the same thing with their logo! They even made it "chocolate" colour.
  2. Signvox frustrations. Any long time users around?

Signvox is quite powerful if you put in the work to build your catalog and customise everything the way you want it. However, the biggest problem for us by far is the speed. Page load times and lag are awful, and like others have said that's why it takes ages to put together a custom quote...
  3. Black not dark enough

We use Sign & Display for almost everything. Blacks come out dark enough with just K:100 that we haven't had a single comment about it since we stopped using the US Pre-Press setting. The blacks also look fairly pure - no warm/cool tint.
  4. One BIG sign

I agree with using ACP (alupanel/dibond/etc). Just put six 4x8 sheets side by side like you would do on a billboard. If you haven't done these before, keep in mind that you will NOT usually have seams that line up perfectly when the job is done, and that's normal. Whatever you can do to make...
  5. I feel like I get electrocuted everytime i run composite aluminum through laminator

Got a big shock from the laminator today, tingling right down to my toes. Will post again later when I find out what my new superpower is.
  6. exporting files as ai vs eps

If the EPS file turns out to be huge, then either you have large raster images in it or very complicated vectors, and in both those cases it will be much safer to flatten the file if you can. TIFF with LZW is good if the file isn't too big, and you can get away just fine with JPEG in many cases.
  7. What is the goofiest thing a customer has said to/requested of you?

Respond quickly and seriously with "one million dollars!" and then stare at them until they reply. 9 times out of 10 "oh, I guess I have to be more specific".
  8. what do you think of this method to cut aluminum composite

This is how we cut aluminum composite. That video sure shows off how thin the skin is on cheap Tru-Stock panels - one swipe with the scoring tool and it's good to go! Alupanel take a bit more work with the scoring tool. You'll need to deburr it after doing this, but you probably do after using a...
  9. Attach banners to work table

Clamp one end of the banner down with your laminator? Did that once and it worked fine.
  10. Overspray

Could it be the head speed? Static causes overspray but the faster your headspeed, the bigger the overspray, due to physics. Anyway, the solution to your problem is probably to just use standard mode. High speed mode is for "economy" prints where the customer doesn't want to pay for perfect...
  11. KeenCut - which model??

One thing to note. If your cutting mats on your table are old and in rough shape, the blade is going to wobble more than when you use a knife and ruler, so you'll get a slightly wavy cut.
  12. l260 non curl banner icc

Intelicoat POS Pro 200+ is latex compatible. Search the forums for people using it on latex - there's mostly good feedback on it.
  13. l260 non curl banner icc

Problems, you say? Try changing the setting on the thing, and if that doesn't work, try the other one. Then post a less ambiguous question and see what comes up in the replies :thumb:
  14. 'Need your input regarding 3M wrap combo

I totally agree. Most of the major brand bundles are within 10% price difference ($1000-1100 here), so just use whatever your installer prefers!
  15. Font i.d. request

I loved this font when I first saw it awhile ago, but it's EVERYWHERE now. It's getting way too overused.
  16. Banner material

I've had good luck with Ultraflex Jetflex on my Roland. Better drying times than the cheaper brand my supplier stocks.
  17. First Partial Wrap

Easiest way to fix the black text would be to cut some white vinyl letters the exact same size and put them 1/4" up and to the left, so you have white lettering with a black drop shadow. I like the grass though. What a cool idea for a landscaping company.
  18. Painted Billboard

Looks fantastic. I like how you signed the license plate.
  19. pinstripe or cut vinyl

Agreed. And you may want to do the last layer wet unless you're very confident in lining things up perfectly.
