  1. Whos makes the best Laptops??

I was thinking a 17 inch screen would be good 'cause when you have a program like corel, photoshop or illustrator loaded, the toolbars, menus etc take up a lot of the viewable real estate, leaving a much smaller space to view the actual file you are working on. I'm also in the market for a...

  5. Hi Everyone

Hello from Beautiful BC, Canada! Get the sponge out 'cause there is lots of info (and attitude) to soak up here.. I've learned that there is some contempt on these forums for the new guy wanting to buy a cutter and claim he is a sign guy. And rightly so.. There are numerous people here that...
  6. corel is crap!

You may need a lower version of corel. I used to use a stika 12 with corel 8 and that worked OK. I don't think X3 supports that machine. Ken

  10. Versacam 300V

In my area ( BC) I'm seeing a few distributors are offering the sp300 as used (trade-ins). I own an sp300(notV) and I really like it. However, if I had the funds available at the time , I should have bought the 540. You may say that you are only going to do "small stuff" now. But when people...

Try this: Cut your outline size letters first.(ie: black) Then cut out your letters to proper size.(ie:white) Lay down the outline as one unit. Apply the letters (one by one) on top of the outline. ( Use application fluid to position correctly, or clear transfer tape without app. fluid if...

Hi Fred. Yes, not a whole lot of "entries" on this, and I think the ones posted are just not "getting it". You are looking for a real world campaign..not a play on road-kill. I hope to find some time to put something together. Can you provide me with 30 hours a day? lol Ken

Hi Biff. Welcome to signs101 from BC. Nice to have someone of your experience here. Can you tell me what I would need to produce full color business cards? I assume they are printed as a sheet then cut with some kind of shear. Can this be done with my versacamm sp300 on cardstock? Ken
  19. corel vs. adobe

There seems to be a lack of plug-ins for corel. I will use photoshop to utilize the plug-ins that I have then export that to Corel as a .tiff file , then add text etc. for out-put to my versacamm. Really, you need both corel and AI. and photoshop...and a .pdf reader/compiler. I find corel to...
