Late last night I was doing a pen plot on some paper. Somehow near the end of the plot the paper bunched up and knocked a sensor underneath the carriage. I didn't realize it and shut the machine down and started up. I took the carriage apart and inserted the sensor, however now it's giving me an...
Thank Woolly I will try again tomorrow. I did what you suggested and the banding has minimized, but not completely gone. I will try the Print Test observe and see about the feed settings. Thanks again for taking the time out and sheding a little knowledge.
"Feed calibration can be seen on the test print the join of the two passes"
Kinda of lost on that one. I did not run the heater when I did this. I Will try those suggestions. Thanks Woolly, you helped me out last time.
A while ago I had some help here and it resolved my problem but not completely. I went into the service menu and adjusted the horizontal settings. Afterwards I did a bi-directional print adjustment and I did a little more tweaking and it's spot on.

Okay so I found where the horizontal and vertical alignment options would be in the Service Menu but I hit another stumbling block. When I try to print a test patter, it gives me the error that hte head height is too low. I move the physical lever on the head height to the highest position but...
Where can one get a service manual? It sounds like you must make some small incremental adjustments.....or should I be better off paying a tech guy to come in? It is really making the work appear shoddy, I can't produce professional results and charge for it looking like this.
Thanks guys, you given me some more insight on the issue. How hard is it to replace media sensor? What is the costs?
woolly,
I saw the tech guy (I paid tech to replace the head) do some sort of alignment different from the bi-directional print alignment. Where would I access that? I...
Hello All,
I've been coming to this great website since I started my business nearly 2 years ago and I FINALLY took the plunge and registered.
I own a Roland SC-540 and it's giving me some odd banding that I can't get rid of. Seems like when I print fine lines it's not aligning all the...
