  1. Lawn mower banding

I have the same thing on my VP540 (Roland)- it is a function of the rip in this case (Wasatch) and does not happen with VersaWorks rip. This helps you not at all of course- but when I saw the title I immediately understood what you meant- kudos for nailing the description. Gene :U Rock:
  2. VP owners unite!

I will try that Brian- do the heaters turn off at some point I hope? Oldforgetfulfart here:doh:
  3. VP owners unite!

    Anyone? Gene
  4. VP owners unite!

Just thought of another thing- the heaters cool off *very* quickly- for instance- if you cancel a print by the time you send the print again it takes several minutes to get back up to temp. I run both heaters wide open btw- so that may take longer. Gene
  5. VP owners unite!

Right- mine slips fairly often- and as I mentioned it really slows the print speed- and I don't notice til I am into the print of course. Gene
  6. VP owners unite!

I am noticing a couple of behaviors with my VP540 that are curious. The machine seems to slip from 'sheet scan' to 'full width' scan a lot- I cannot seem to be able to identify when this happens. I print mostly 30" vinyl and if it is not set to 'sheet scan' (menu>submenu>full width...
  7. Roland Intelligent Pass Control Upgrade Available for the VP-300 & 540

Stacy- how are the Roland Spot colors working with the RIPC- you said that you were using your prior profiles, not the new roland profiles, correct? BSnyder said he was having trouble with the ink puddling with the new profiles (as I understand it). I updated Vworks but not the firmware yet-...
  8. Roland Intelligent Pass Control Upgrade Available for the VP-300 & 540

With the triangle ink I always run the heaters full on- except 54"banners and a couple of sensitive materials. I love triangle, very durable- I can take a print out of the printer as soon as it stops and scrub with IPA with little or no effect.
  9. Roland Intelligent Pass Control Upgrade Available for the VP-300 & 540

Thanks Stacy- that is good to hear, I struggled with the Versaworks profiling- I had a lot more trouble with individual ink limits than when I did my Wasatch profiling. VP540 and triangle inx for addl problems. Wasatch still has not figured out the problem that I am having with bad...
  10. Roland Intelligent Pass Control Upgrade Available for the VP-300 & 540

Are there new profiles as well or will my old (i1 proof made) profiles work?:toasting: Last day in So. Texas... so I am gearing up for the real world:doh:
  11. Blade Type and Depth w/ Laminated 3651

I used a 60 deg blade on my SP (VP also btw)- 45 for laminated cast.
  12. Roland Versaworks Color Charts

They will print at whatever quality and speed the Que default you are using is set to. Gene
  13. Roland Color System in Flexi

Thank you Mr Thole- that worked a treat- ya'll are a gentleman and scholar
  14. Roland Color System in Flexi

    Bimp to the top:toasting:
  15. Roland Color System in Flexi

I tried opening in F7.6v2 this morning and could not- opened in Adobe acrobat and converted to an .eps and that worked. I would upload the eps file- but I cannot figure out how (olfart). Thanks Gene Edit- only half of the top row comes in as spot colors with the correct names that Vworks...
  16. Roland Color System in Flexi

    Ditto
  17. Roland Color Swatches and Versaworks...

I have been experimenting with this- it will work but it is labor intensive to set up. You need to use the Roland spot color names with the cmyk values and then change to a spot color- VW will then recognize it. I have tried this- he knows of nothing available- could you make this...
  18. Carbon fiber in Corel?

Fred- I like your carbonfiber pattern- except for the diagonal highlight which I think would look odd when tiled. Any way to get them without the highlight? Maybe 006, 007, or 008 if possible. Thanks Gene
  19. Roland Color Swatches and Versaworks...

There is a very nice pdf on Rolands site about this: http://rolanddga.com/rnet30/files/support/rvw_spot_color_replace.pdf What I am wondering is what happens when you specify a 'Vworks spot color' within the rip? The colors are great but the ink is laid down very heavy- it must...
  20. Is anyone using Wasatch with a VP540?

The VPs are quite different from the SPs- 4 heads instead of 2 and faster. The profiles do not cross over either. I used Wasatch on my SP300 and upgraded to a full Roland version when I bought my VP540... has never delivered the prints I expected. The ink looks mottled and I have atypical...
