  1. What cutter, CHEAP

I have to wonder why you read so much of what these "real" sign guys post - especially after you advise to "ignore these idiots"? You don't ask a lot of questions, and after an introduction like that, I can't imagine that if you did ask - that you'd get much help. Great intro autodoc! :U...
  2. Geo. Knight vs. Might Press Digital

I just went through the same decision making process that you're going through. I have owned a Geo-Knight press for several years now, but I felt it was time to upgrade. My old GK press had a temperature dial and no timer. It didn't give accurate temperature readings and as a result I have...

  4. Roland cx-24 with xp driver cutting dashes

Did you figure out how to solve your problem? What version of Corel are you currently using? Do you have another new computer with XP on it, in addition to one with 98? Or did you upgrade from 98 to XP on the same machine? There are some useful resources on Roland's website, but they can be...
  5. Roland cx-24 with xp driver cutting dashes

Sorry OP, I admit I was just stabbing in the dark there. With all the combinations of cutters/software it's hard to say what anybody could possibly / inadvertently change in their settings to get undesired results. I looked over some of your older posts and checked out Roland's website for...
  6. Roland cx-24 with xp driver cutting dashes

Are you cutting directly from Corel? What options do you have in the "printer dialog" that comes up when you select print? There are too many variables to consider without more information/screen shots of what you are doing. Gene
  7. Corel 9 to Versaworks

Page 53 in the Versaworks manual: http://rdga.com/rnet30/files/support/versaworks_use_en_R2.pdf I see the step by step is for version 11/12, I know it works in X3, maybe it will in 9 as well. I would upgrade to X3, I love it! Gene
  8. Corel 9 to Versaworks

I don't use Corel 9, I have X3, but I would imagine the CutContour outline is what you're looking for and would be the same in version 9. Essentially you want a hairline (contour) around your design in a spot color you'll name CutContour. Then save as an eps file. You can find more information...
  9. Roland cx-24 with xp driver cutting dashes

Could you have accidentally put the settings on "pounce pattern"? Just a guess... Gene

  12. EDGE contour cut with Roland?

I'm not sure if this will help: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=roland+gx-24 Quite a few videos on how to use the Roland's "optic eye" from various print methods. I've never owned or printed from an Edge, this would be my best guess at how one might be able to do it. Gene

  17. What Software?

I personally like CorelDraw X3. I am a long time user of Adobe products, mainly Photoshop, and found CorelDraw much more intuitive than Illustrator to work in. It may just be me though... Gene BTW - welcome to the group! :signs101:

  19. What would you charge for these yard signs?

2007 Sign Craft Pricing Guide: $67 for 1 d/f 2'x3' 4mm white coroplast sign - Basic layout w/ Intermediate vinyl without a stake of any kind - and this is for a shop rate of $44/hr! I would personally be at $61.50 each, with 5 minutes of design time and using economy vinyl, the stakes are...
