Think I just read a Joe Biden speech! He left out the part about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I am busy, but do not want to be.

  5. Roll your calendar back to 1975

That guy has an outtake fan behind him, he would be over 100 years old by now. That bought back memories of having to spray white inside of all the channel letters for better reflection of light from neon. Great find of those pics, beautiful signwork.
  6. Clear a spot on your fridge tonight

For all the fathers with us and who are gone. Have a Happy Day!
  7. Roll your calendar back to 1975

Well it is 2019 and I still do not have HBO. I do remember a few years before 1975 where a silk screen guy had used vinyl where he silk screen a blue background with white copy on 2"x4" vinyl and we installed those on directional for a bank name change. We would take soapy water mix with spray...
  8. Do they just sit on there??

Yep, they built those square tubing stringers to attach letters to and hung them over the parapet wall. Probably ran wires, if letters were lit, thru tubing and securely attached tubing to other side of parapet. Building probably did not want holes drilled in walls for various reasons, like bank...
  9. Roll your calendar back to 1975

Well Grasshopper, you are going to end up the same if you keep making fun of us old guys! Karmas a bitch.
  10. Roll your calendar back to 1975

I do not see any difference from 1975 till now. Except I don't remember anyone using the word "obfuscate" back then. Sign of the Times was in publication so it must have been an industry. Questions were not answered as freely as they are now, you could go off on somebody and not be banned or...
  11. Suggestions Moving Out of Miami- Where should i go?

Idaho, no ocean, cold in the winter, not to many places you will hear reggaetton.
  12. Roll your calendar back to 1975

Never used transfer lettering on a layout. Drew letters out to scale and then made paper patterns of letters for the metal guy to make channel letters or plastic guy to make wood letters for molds to make forned plastic faces. Or patterns to cut out stencils for spray painting flat acrylic...
  13. Massive stencil needed, 25'x150' for roof top graphic

If you can make the company logo big on a paper pattern then you can make it on the roof, no pouncing and messing with paper blowing all over the place, tape and a pounce bag. A good scaled sketch like mentioned and draw it out. And I do not see the humor in this post except for laughing all...
  14. Bar Epoxy Clearcoat on HDU signs?

Awlgrip makes a clear coat that can be brushed or rolled. All boating maintenance supply companies sell it. Two part mix and will hold up very well outside.
  15. Where the software fees go...

Flexi is like the ugly sister wife who can't cook or bear children. What good is she except watching the other wives' kids.
  16. Roll your calendar back to 1975

Well I remember being on ladderjacks in February of 1975 and painting a billboard in Hallandale Beach when the shop manager drove up and told me my wife was in the hospital in labor with our first child. I quickly packed up and drove the company's Ford Econoline van to the hospital. Back then...
  17. Massive stencil needed, 25'x150' for roof top graphic

Is Des Moines where the guy who painted American Gothic come from?
  18. Massive stencil needed, 25'x150' for roof top graphic

Agree with old timer, this job is easy, no hanging off walls, a good layout to scale, couple boxes of chalk a 2" cut in brush and wham your done. Old Timer and myself will knock that sucker out in a morning. Did one to scale, 5 minutes.
  19. Where the software fees go...

    Looks Photoshopped!
