  1. Edge2 or a Easy Bake Oven?

If I was buying new I'd probably go for the FX. Especially if you don't have a few thousand dollars in foils sitting around. There may be a few new Edge 2's available but why bother if it's been discontinued  (for now)... I print to my Edge 2 exclusively from Flexi. It's come...

Pumps, wipers, and dampers I believe.
  3. should i convert to 3rd party solvent ink ?

I recently received some sample prints that were printed w/ the Triangle mild solvent and was very impressed. I rubbed as hard as I could with alcohol and the ink didn't come up. I applied a solvent clearcoat on it and couldn't pull it off with packaging tape. Roland's Eco-Sol Max inks come...
  4. ink vs thermal

Interesting. I was not aware of that. I remember the one thing I didn't like about the Summa was the fact that you couldn't load different size vinyl. Seems kinda silly since it's a friction fed machine. That would be a nice option for a future model.
  5. ink vs thermal

I was planning on selling my Edge 2 after I bought my solvent Inkjet printer but I've recently decided to keep it. Thermal transfer really comes in handy when you need to print a spot color outline or shade on metallic or reflective films. You can also get more vibrant colors in many...
  6. Newbe..... Hi Guys & Gals

What version of Flexi are you running? The driver should be available within the software.

  9. Windows Issue?

Windows ME is pretty bad even with windows updates. It's an older sytem and upgrading the operating system would probably cause other issues. I'll give the Dll a shot. Thanks
  10. Windows Issue?

I'm running Windows ME on the home computer and just loaded software for a Logitech Quickcam. (Windows ME compatible) Something is causing a reoccurring problem that reads: ATL Can not run unicode version of ATL 71.DLL on Windows 95, 98, ME. Please install the ANSI version. It shows this...

    Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
  12. Rip Error and Job Defaults

Hey Denis, That's strange. Is there a rip error #? It sounds like Flexi isn't recognizing the drivers. Did you reboot after the install?
  13. Adobe Photoshop Question

Try this in Flexi if you have a recent version. Select your image & go to Bitmap> make transparent>set your tolerance & click inside the white area you want transparent and your done. Very :cool1: feature.
  14. please help the newbie choose a plotter

Any entry plotter will work. I wouldn't be concerned about the down force unless you are cutting sandblast mask. Buy the cheap one and spend the extra money on sign related publications. Educating yourself on design, layout, proper material usage, pricing, etc. etc. is the best advise you can get.
  15. Is the sheeter worth the money?

Forget the laminate, It's not made for that. But as a application tape tool it's a great product and well worth the money.
  16. Font that looks like signature?

Look at Sofia Script or Stanford Script. Letterhead fonts.
  17. Plugins?/Eyecandy&Flexipro 7.5v5?

Yes you can access PS 7 Plugins. Adding custom fills & textures to your Flexi color palette is simple. Just select the color or bitmap texture you would like to add and go to > View > color > Define pattern. It will automatically appear in color swatches. Don't forget to save the the...
  18. Flexi - Optimize Cutting Order

When set to 10. It keeps the cutting to 10 inch increments. Changing it to a higher number will just make the material roll forward and back more during cutting. Less efficient.
  19. my new Mimaki equip arrived the other day!!!

Looks great Doug. Are you planning on starting w/ the solvent inks or the ms2 mild solvet?
  20. Serrated cut lines?
