  1. how does one determine if you need a new head?

I tried taking a pic with my Blackberry but it is to hard to see. OK this encoder strip..I think it is that metal piece that looks like it has strange patterns running thorugh it that sits just behind the black belt...is that correct? Clean it with a dry lintless rag? Swiffer? in the...
  2. jv3 - command to run an alignment?

OK I understand what you say. When my heads are in the thin position I can only print uni as bi makes the print blurry. In thick I can run either.
  3. how does one determine if you need a new head?

I ask this as lately just about everything I print has these somewhat darker lines being printed on the overlapping sections. I have run media compensation and this morning ran a print adjustment. It is very noticeable in solid colours and although maybe most customers would never see it from 2...
  4. jv3 - command to run an alignment?

Now I need to know one other detail here. I have run the adjust and made some small changes. This is with the heads set in the thick position. If I put the heads down to the thin position I can run unidirectional fine but as soon as I go to bidirectional everything is off. Is this the...

  6. jv3 - command to run an alignment?

2 questions actually. 1) I am not sure of the term but it is function to have the machine print all the lines and you match up to the one that is lined up properly + or - of the centre point. I am pretty sure mine needs to be adjusted as just about every print lately looks like crap. 2)...

  8. if I were an embroiderer would I want a jpg or eps file?

I can't think of how many customers of mine ask for their logo so it can go for embroidery. I always ask them what kind of file the embroiderer wants and they say jpg. Is this true? Why would they not want an eps file completely vectored and perfect? So naturally today a guy calls at 5:15...

  11. quik edge question

When printing on the Edge le how far up from the bottom of the vinyl does it start at? Does anyone actually know the real distance. I ask this as I have to print white on removable clear but my supplier had no 15" perf, so I cut down a strip off a 30" roll. I have taped it on to a carrier...

  13. some colours can be a real headache

yes I can see this happening a little bit already, but had no other choice. I might just slap a layer of vinyl on the backside so they fight each other.
  14. some colours can be a real headache

I have not....what do you think of it?
  15. Spring cleaning.....should've been fall cleaning

I agree. I don't pack rat stuff, but offcuts just seem to build up and you know one day you will use it. Every few months I take a mental fit and just start tossing crap out into the bin. Bad enough you get rid of it, but you have to pay to throw it out too!! Today I went in to set up my...
  16. RapidTac and Wet Mounting?

with a reverse or second surface application you are almost forced to use liquids. The only scary part is that if you have large areas of dark colours then, sometimes you get that fog that can appear between the vinyl and the acrylic. I know it is caused by the adhesive getting wet and over...
  17. RapidTac and Wet Mounting?

a drop of soap may not be enough. Depending on how hard your water is you may need more soap. I have never used 1 drop in a 1 litre sprayer, maybe 10 -15 drops works fine. I also spray the back side of the vinyl and the substrate itself and that allows it to slide easier.
  18. credit cards

  19. credit cards

I use an air miles Visa card and although I pay $120 a year for it, I put just about everything on it. I have accumulated plenty of air miles and they also offer products. I have my eye on a beautiful gas BBQ 1000 sq in cooking area and every conceivable extra u could want!!!! That...
