  1. Alternative to Laminating?

You should check out the laminator I have for sale in the classified section. It would be a good (and cheap) solution for your needs - especially since you've only got a 30" printer. Gary
  2. Laminator for sale - Tri-Seal

Hey all! I know some of you have been thinking of buying a laminator - well, our 50" Tri-Seal is on the market :) http://www.signs101.com/pp-classifieds/showproduct.php?product=212 Really solid machine - just don't need it anymore and it's taking up space. Have a few other pieces of equipment...
  3. Logo design processes

I also do quite a bit of logo design, and have a process similar to Rick's. One of the things that Rick didn't break out in his brief process description above though is one of the parts of my process that is MOST important - Setting expectations This has to happen right off the bat. I make...

  5. There. are. no. words.

I dont' know what part of this post is more ironic - the part where you post something factual ("This thing is not going to replace Mimikis, Graphtec, Mutohs etc") or the part where you totally miss the point ("Maybe mock him if he was displaying his wares at a sign convention.") The problem...

  8. Thoughts about Mentoring newbies...

I agree with much of what is said in this thread. If someone from OUT OF MY AREA wants to come spend a day or two - that's great. Otherwise, if you are in my area - figure it out on your own somehow. I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand. I had a phone call from an HVAC...
  9. Tennis Team Logo

You definitely don't want the ball to be more "realistic". I'd go MUCH more cartoon-ish. Rick has pointed you in a great direction... Gary

I'm getting the same access restriction message, Fred. Gary
  11. Anyone ever heard or used LavaInk?

Is that for 440's? If so, good price. Never heard of it. We use 20/20 inks in our Mutoh. They work great - but dang is the smell a TON worse than OEM :) Gary
  12. A bit of help?

There are several sites, most notably Pro Vehicle Outlines, that will sell you individual templates. Remember, file sharing is not allowed on Signs101. Gary
  13. how to set up the winder (roll-up system)

Tape it middle first, then left, then right. Pull each nice and taught against the tensioner bar. Should do the trick. Gary
  14. how often do you get files for print that have mistakes?

Nope. Our wholesale customers are simply that. We do nothing but plug their provided file into the RIP, and print it. If it is a bad file, or they made a mistake, then that is their issue. We do not charge enough to eat those jobs. If their client made the mistake, then I expect them to...
  15. Arching A Logo

You need to phrase your questions better then. What software are you using? What is the overall width of the windshield? What is the Draw? Help us help you. Gary
  16. Arching A Logo

Do a search - someone posted an EXCELLENT tutorial on how to do this. However, you are going to need to measure the windshield to get the correct curve. Gary
