Many of our best customers (All our customers are resellers) run some of their own equipment in house. You'll sell more when you can show a customer that you run some equipment. It also let's you play with that small custom job from time to time. We do the work our resellers can't do or get...

  10. Question Wide Format Printer Recommendation

What about an HP fb550 or an acuity LED 1600 hybrid? If you need to print and laminate sheets, these machines won't take up much more room than a laminator with I feed and outfeed tables.but you can skip a step. Just throwing it out there.
  11. ACM bending

You know I have no idea if this would work, but if it did, my guess would be the higher end materials would work better. Architectual panels and such. The higher grade acm has thicker aluminum skin which is less likely to tear. There are also new steel faced panels many suppliers are carrying...
  12. Vendor Application packet - really?!

We have a few customers ask us to list them as an additional insured on our general liability policy. There's a lot of hoops to jump through some times. I would say for a $200 order, I would pass on the paperwork unless you have a strong feeling you'll get a lot more business once you're in...
  13. Aluminum signs

You can design them online too: .080 Aluminum Parking Signs
  14. Signmaking is territorial, and that can hurt

You shouldn't cut your price for the exact same product as before. Offer something similar for a discounted price, but leave the original product at the same price. Even if your cost doesn't change much. Otherwise you admit you could have cut 40% out of your pricing if your back was up against a...
  15. employee benefits

We offer the same to all employees, but there are some variances allowed for different categories of employees. It's not 100% cut and dry I don't think. Speak to your benefits person. Also, we just started using Paychex and it seems to be going alright so far. Seems to me that it would be a...

Gatorplast works great for hanging menus. Half inch is pretty rigid but light.
  17. Interviewing and testing

Since we don't really offer any in-house design, this isn't a direct answer to your question, but here are a couple things we look for in a candidate. I ask in person or on the phone what 7/8ths + a quarter is. Many can't answer this question, but their response to it tells me alot. Do they ask...
  18. Opinion I'm not sure what to do..........................

I dont know who the supplier was, but if it was us, I would want to know about it. We're growing fast and we have an amazing team, but we make mistakes too. I would want to know about it personally. My biggest fear isn't that we might mess a job or interaction up. My biggest fear in our...
  19. 3,000 small aluminum signs needed

We bid and win state jobs weekly, maybe daily, though our network of resellers. If you are not stacked full of jobs in your shop, why not submit a bid, just mark a quote up from us 20-50% and see what happens? It's good work to do if. You're a little slow. Better than sitting on your hands!
