the pads are adjustable on the plastic letters. I would lightly scuff the laquered surface where the pads are going to hit and use silicone...DONE!

go to the auto paint store and get some 3M double stick tape it is black it is used for holding molding to cars. this will take care of all your issues

nah you really need to get rid of AVG and the uninstall will NOT get rid of it, it lingers. I........ download ccleaner and uninstall that way THEN, do a search for avg files, delete all those THEN go into registry and get rid of it. Download avast and there you go. AVG is bloated, uncalled...

I would suggest using a thin metal letter with at least a 1/2" return as opposed to flat, thats not going to look good for sure
