  4. PC crash between print+cut with colorrip won't cut the print now. need help.

How large is the print to be cut (graphic size, not file size) Is it a very complex cut? I don't know much about Roland printers, or Color rip, but I've done my share of workarounds over the years. Could you send the cut to a roll of paper, with a pen in place of the knife, then register it to...
  5. Sharing art with Competition??

"be honest, how many really charge...?" As Rick and Flame and others said... WE CHARGE!! ...maybe some of us had to work up to it over time, but you are among professionals, and as such we all like to be compensated for our work. As with yourself, and many of us in our early days, it takes time...
  6. looking to cut shape in AI

try using the "pathfinder" tools, like "front minus back", or 'trim"... ...if the zebra pattern is made of multiple parts, you might need to "trim" them one at a time, or "make compound" (under object menu) to the multiple parts of the zebra pattern first, then select it, and the heart & try...
  7. hello new to the site from missouri

last night I saw his posts for the first time & after a few others had been questioning his spelling, or supposed inconsistencies in his story... on in some cases his design work... and at least one other person had said "is this guy for real? Nobody spells their own name wrong"... ...anyway, I...

welcome from Hawaii. I just saw your posts on the Pit Bull family site. Looks like you've been hard at work on the shop. Good Luck. 10. The Polished Turd Contest - VOTE NOW!

hmmm... I was wondering about that Ken... I think it is someone inspired by Jill though... it's got a Jillbeans vibe for sure, but I'm not sure it is her style of sign design... more like a sign about her style of forum presence? I'm thinking Weaselboogie maybe?

  17. n00b flexi question

Thanks for taking the time to post that explanation Fred. I've always confessed to not using Flexi for the things I could do in Illustrator, but then I have less chance of stumbling on the things I can't do in illustrator. Those are a few really good examples of things worth doing in Flexi!
  18. n00b flexi question

I would agree that it is no match for an Adobe suite. Built for the vastly smaller market of sign designers, it is fairly competent for designing a lot of what is needed in the sign industry... far more than I use it for, but agreeable far less than I could do with my preferred Adobe suite...
