  1. Temporary Exterior Sign

Ah, dryvit. missed that part. was imagining a sign cabinet you needed to cover. Anywho, I've used Phototex's high-tack to adhere to dryvit temporarily BUT it definitely has that "banner-look". You could "fancy-it-up" a bit with some hand-trimming (phototex doesn't cut too well on a plotter)...
  2. Temporary Exterior Sign

Phototex has an opaque version. Quick print & install, and comes in 100' rolls.
  3. Help with Illustrator File!

actually, this sounds like it could do the trick! VectorDoctor to the rescue! (reposting quote since I like adding to my postcount)
  4. Help with Illustrator File!

The limiting factor is AI's memory management. And file size on disk doesn't mean anything. An 18 or 22 MB JPEG can easily expand to 2GB uncompressed and then you already break AI's measly 2GB limit. no way around it except to possibly open the .pdf in Acrobat Pro (or possibly photoshop)...
  5. Blacking out windows

just throwing it out there, but, hopefully your county/city will even allow such a thing. half the towns I put up graphics in Wisconsin, allow only a certain % of window coverage per Fire Code.
  6. Lighted Sign Boxes Supplier needed

don't forget about permits, UL listing, and proper installation! I only say this because your website leads me to believe that you have not dabbled in this kind of sign-work before :) +1 find someone local. shipping is a budget-killer. much easier to simply go pick it up yourself.
  7. Script font - ideas?

o wow, same font as the movie poster! thanks!
  8. Script font - ideas?

scanned business card, and i'm horrible at matching script fonts :( any ideas?
  9. Stupid JV3 130 SP2

my fans once crapped out on me, on my 160sp, because I had failed to notice my ink pump/drain lines had rotted and were dripping ink all-over the cables within the printer. disconnected, cleaned the cables/connections, and everything fired-back-up again like a charm.
  10. Material Failure or Damaged by customer?

you should be charging him extra... for saving his window from being shattered by whatever it is that did the gouging.
  11. ACM Panel on Brick....

VHBtape & silicone works just fine for me! if they don't want fasteners, then its up to them to deal with adhesive left on brick after removal...
  12. Avery Strike.....AGAIN

calendared overlaminates will do that if you have your tension set high, especially with a laminator that has heat-assist.
  13. Customers are so ignorant...

never too late to send a link: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=new+sign+faces

  16. Construction site / job site sign stands

http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?64145-need-your-input I like making these T-Frames for easy-to-install MDO signs. No digging necessary, and completely re-usable. Pics/Diagram/Description in that thread, but the legs are basically a "T" of 4x4's supported with 45degree 2x4's...
  17. How often do you guys replace printheads on your 26500?

never hurts to start your week by printing the test plots within the clean printheads menu, and check for missing nozzles before it becomes noticeable in your product. $100 for a printhead, and a minute of your time, is nothing compared to the hundreds of $$$'s it costs to print a vehicle wrap...
  18. How often do you guys replace printheads on your 26500?

about 8-12 liters of ink here. the machine has automatically told us to change on some, other times it was just noticeable defects in prints that extra cleanings would not correct ...usually after a head strike/media jam, but so far never before i've put at least 6 carts of ink thru it.
  19. help! largish job pricing

    :Welcome:2:signs101:
  20. Ain't gonna do that anymore either!

who is this job through? the other sign company or the doc himself? sounds like you explained the scope of the work required to your client but your client promised their client a brand-new sign and are leaving you to hang for touching the project.
