are you using the right phototex? there's an aqueous and a solvent version. p.s. you're gonna have a heck of a time cutting anything more than a straight line. edited: CES's post below makes way more sense. Cutter mark darkness setting has got to be it.
  2. How Much would you charge???

time + materials + profit + tax, or you'll never afford to go to deeSignSkool
  3. Throwback Thursday: post your first set of wheels.

1996 Chevy Blazer. great ride, and I kept it pristine until the day my grandfater decided that he could park one of our cranes in the lot... looked a lot like this after he backed right into it. Was never really upset with him, damage was done, but that's why we've got insurance. All we could...
  4. HP L26500 banding in black

"pics, or it never happened" higher pass rate may eliminate the banding, as I believe that the highest pass rate is used by default in the test prints ...so that's why you don't see it there. printhead may be new, but there might still be a scratch/blocked nozzles in it from a headstrike and/or...

  6. New cnc buyer - what brand ?

+1, our MultiCam3000 is 10yrs running and still no issues. the only reason I would get anything else would be to either add another axis, or branch-out to waterjet or laser to expand our options. ...o, and 11-tool changer, #nobigdeal :)
  7. Crestliner boat - font?

know what else I can do faster? ...just that. except i'd skip the need to print on paper, just to scan it. ...but that's just how we do it up here in the 21st century :)
  8. Crestliner boat - font?

brandsoftheworld has the crestliner logo, but thanks for your concern. :) looking to make DNR #'s, and was hoping to skip a step by matching a font... no biggie, i'm already on-to matching the text effects and this case of beer is MINE!!! (Pat gets an i.o.u) :rock-n-roll:
  9. Crestliner boat - font?

yeah, and he's my neighbor.... comes over every day to add another thing to the ever-expanding "to-do list" for his boat/charter biz. Copperplate is a good direction. I may just type out all I need, shear, and then chop off some of the serifs :)
  10. Bubbles in Lettering

you've shown your weakness, and your client won't stop exposing it until you completely stop asking for payment. you should be standing your ground, declaring that the vehicle is lettered per your agreement... even though you are secretly ashamed of your product/install skills.
  11. Crestliner boat - font?

client wants his boat lettered, and of course wants me to match the existing "Crestliner' logo font. anything close come to mind?
  12. Want to buy 8-10 feet of 3M 3735 Light Diffuser Film

its really just a fancy name for white transluscent film. If I was stuck in a pinch, i'd just use some of my printable white trans. film.
  13. sign designer block....

layered & carved HDU EZPZ ...though i hate that shape.
  14. Mimaki JV33 Uses ? - Stickers, T-Shirt Transfers etc.

i was pushing hard to upgrade my jv3 to the Jv33, knowing how great of a machine it was. ...and i'd still take it over it's Roland counter-part anyday, but they're both very identical machines with exactly the same amount of uses.

  18. Generic Cleaning Solution for solvent ink

:supersmilie:true shout-out definitely goes to Artbot for sharing his info with me in the first place. :) triangle & bordeaux make great cleaning solutions at a very competitive price to OEM. i'm pretty sure any 3rd party supplier will-do, as its all pretty much the same stuff. however, if...
