how's your encoder strip look at the point on the printer?
  2. Painting Sintra?

we paint with mathews acrylic polyurethane, no primer necessary and actually not recommended unless it's an acrylic primer. paints great and is our standard for use of sintra signage. especially for outdoor panels, as sunlight/weather turns uncoated sintra to a faded-white version of whatever...
  3. Franks face on a fellers warehouse now...where next?

say what you will, but Fellers recently stepped-up bigtime and recalled a bunch of rolls of new product :dog42 .... because it wouldn't take crap from anyone :Big Laugh
  4. Acrylic signs and the headaches that can go with them

hinge & wet apply. moisture kills the static. can even overuse your application fluid to flush the surface of your acrylic prior to setting the vinyl-down. ...and keep a clean area. I get smacked when I buff sign panels, especially recently-routed acrylic/aluminum with scotchbrite/sandpaper...
  5. Looking for anti-microbial pressure sensitive laminate

weak, this stuff is still being spec'd? its for lazy people that would rather spec. an exotic, overpriced, material than actually clean their surfaces/graphics properly. Meant for food service, public transit, or hospitals that want to add a stat-line to their interior design, at about...

  8. Dirt Bike Graphics

suck it up, newbie. :dog42 let the snarks, snark, and let the good advice shine through (...in shorter rants than my own) take your battles to PM if you're really that hell-bent on sticking long-winded rants to someone for your hurt feelings. Texans are way too...
  9. Opaque coating for backlit channel letter

since the letter is already trim-capped, you're gonna have a heck of a time applying vinyl and covering-up every nook/cranny of the letter inside the pan of that letter. paint it white/lightgrey acrylic primer and black acrylic polyurethane paint. Needs the primer, because acrylic is like...

  12. Problem.....WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

many of my initial theories have already been stated. ..but i'm leaning-towards anything but install faillure. a year later, everything else is pristine, and there's no way someone would mis-prep the exact spot that "S" falls on both sides of the vehicle. ....approx. 3' difference between...
  13. GLOSS or MATTE? Which Do You Prefer?

matte is my preferance, for overall use, it also hides wear/tear & imperfections in the print quality much better and doesn't leave as many noticeable scuffs when applied in a hurry. always gloss for reflectives, as matte seems to dull the effect a bit.

  20. Cant figure this out ink on connection cable again!

printhead ribbon cable, and yes it is connected to your issue. the cable itself is comprised of x-amount of individual wires that aren't meant to be bridged, which is what the spilled-ink is doing within the connection. how the ink got there? its not that hard really. the ribs of the...
