I don't have a desire to get into digital, but do admire those who have the enthusiasm for it.

nyway, I could go on and on. What are some other things that bother you about our industry? I guess it bothers me when people that are new to the industry ask for advice, then when you give it, it almost seems like they do the exact opposite. The poor business decisions and lack of common sense...

that is mostly ILLISTRATOR built vectors. the way they work is layers, where as what you need to when you cut is a SINGLE LAYER, NO INTERSECTING LINES. some of corels clipart is this way, but not all of it.
i have ARTS & LETTERS EXPRESS and it does layers also.
good CUTTER READY CLIPART is...
ill be GENTLE......and say it this way, most of CORELS CLIPART IS VECTORS!!!!! .cmx, .cdr. is a VECTOR FORMAT, no need to convert.
doing a photo to a silohette................is best done in COREL TRACE or ADOBE STREAMLINE.
oh iam so sorry, i misstook you for a newbie)))))
seein as i started painting sign at 12-13, and did it as a side job till 1986, when its all ive done since then.
and i turned 63 in may, gee how could i be so dumb???))))
i would stay away from that odd ball cutter. look around for a used ROLAND, SUMMA, GRAPHTEC. also a 36" for what you want to do is OVERKILL. 24"-30" is all you need.
if you go ROLAND....all you need is COREL!!!!
you racin at SPUD SPEEDWAY????? many a nites there....
you sayin that it cuts J, then move 7 inches and then cuts M, or another J?????
you need to CONVERT TO CURVES....THEN COMBINE
and it should stop doin that...
