Mounting a laminated piece of vinyl onto the full board and just laminate the other side would be the way to go, if you don't have the CNC. However, I would use a 5' x 12' piece of ACM. Also, make sure the blade is sharp and running full speed in order not to get a fuzzy edge.

Sounds like a great idea. We must have 20 pairs of scissors and I don't think we've ever sharpened any of them. Some are over 40 years old. Is there a particular type you can or cannot sharpen ?? My neighbor sharpens mower blades. He charges $5 bucks a blade. Mine are always free.

Can you tell us what kinda material the banner was, manufacturer and other incidentals and what brand and grade of vinyl was used. That more likely has something to do with it, rather than bad alcohol. Usually just wipe a banner down with plain water for die-cut vinyl. Ya only wanna get dirt...
