  2. Is there a way to emulate mutoh weaving on a JV5?

Easy on the Mimaki assumptions buddy! We'll gang up on ya when you LEAST expect it. Have you ever used a Mimaki?! I haven't ever used a ValueJet, but I'm not knockin' it!
  3. Onyx profiles for the JV5 - Why do they suck so much?

I've had some sucky ones for my JV3 through the years. It just took lots of tweaking, and changing things, and test prints, and throwing material away to get it right. I've still got a long way to go before I learn the ins and outs, but once you nail one down, it's worth it!
  4. Illustrator is driving me NUTS today!

Don't ya love the different ways to learn on this board?! I got through it either way, but I don't even know which way I ended up doing it at this point...maybe I used a couple different ones.
  5. Illustrator is driving me NUTS today!

Ok, I have such a simple thing to do, but I haven't ever been able to do it EASILY, and I'm wondering if I'm just not seeing the right tool here or what the deal is. I want to just get this text to follow the curve of the banner shown. It should be SO SIMPLE, but I'm missing one key point I'm...
  6. Bi or Uni???

I assume by "Horizontal Lines" you mean banding. It depends on the settings rather you get that or not. On a lot of my normal media that I print everyday, I can' run either, and I don't notice banding. If I am printing on a specialty banner material or PhotoTex, I have to run unidirectional...
  7. looking for a 100$ bill

Looks more like Chevy Chase than GWB to me.
  8. I need help!

    Boooooooo!
  9. I need help!

  10. What is a refresh rate and what does it mean?

I haven't shut the master power off since the day it was installed (except to move to our new location, and it still may have stayed on). You can change how often it cleans, but ours is every hour. Don't know if it's default that way, or if the installer set that up. I do know that for the...
  11. Acrobat Pro Function?

I had a logo sent to me from a client. When I open it in Acrobat, the font is there, and it looks good. When I open it in Illustrator it isn't converted to oulines, and I can't use it because I don't have that same font. My question is...can I convert this to "outlines" in Acrobat Pro...
  12. Location Change, Sales up or down?

Summer was CRAZY better than last summer...we're slow now though, so hopefully we can justify the bigger rent payment through the winter.
  13. What's your internet connection?

17MBPS Cable @ Home and 21MBPS Cable @ Work. Both paying for 6MB. I love it!
  14. Leaving 101

    Huh?
  15. Too much coffee?

I remember iSign doin' that once because someone else was braggin' about it, then he knocked it out in about 10 minutes or something, and actually had some good info.
  16. Desperate need of a mimaki JV3 part!

Whoops, didn't realize you were in their area already. You probably bought the whole schpiel from them.
  17. Desperate need of a mimaki JV3 part!

Who all did you talk to? I deal w/ Advantage Sign Supply, and they have everything I need most of the time, but I don't know if it ships right from Mimaki or not.
  18. air in the line

On my Mimaki, I had to replace the pumps when it had "air in the line", because it wasn't the air that was the problem. The different colors quit printing one by one, until I had NOTHIN'. Once I replaced the pumps, and I did a fill up, everything was fine. Not sure about how a valujet works...
  19. Can anyone tell me where this dancing hotdog is from?

It's not like a drive-in concession video hotdog or something is it?
