  1. Best RIP Software for an HP Latex 110?

Hey Johnny Best, do you know if you can still design in Flex and use Shiraz as the rip/print/cut?
  2. Printer recommendation. Not VG540

HP Latex user here, if I was buying a new machine, I'd be getting the Epson wide format, without hesitation.
  3. Question Do I need a new printhead - HP 315?

Do the folks @ Onyx realize it is 2019? Dongle's are dinosaurs...they need to move to an online license/activation system. I use Flexi, and while Flexi has a ton of problems, and most days I hate it, the ability to license online/release the license, etc as needed, is pretty cool.
  4. Discussion HP Latex 335 Purchase

I'm not a big fan of my HP Latex, but I will say media loading complexity and material jams are not something I run into at all, and when I do, it is usually operator error. There are other reasons I dislike my HP Latex.
  5. Discussion HP Latex 335 Purchase

STOP! Don't buy any printer without getting sample prints of YOUR work, not HP or dealer printed samples.
  6. Summa or Graphtec

Epson over latex all day long, get a summa cutter if you can.
  7. Summa or Graphtec

Summa, don't look back, having moved from an FC8600 to multiple Summa S2T's myself.
  8. S40600 is amazing!

The HP Latex/Print and Cut is still two separate machines, so you still require the floor space for the cutter just like you would if you purchased the Epson SC printer.
  9. Oce Colorado - Yay or nay

Jun, You really should read and follow the rules here. You can't run around pitching equipment unless you sign up as a merchant member.
  10. Sport Helmet Decals

We use Ultracurve H1 vinyl and Ultracurve 1000 or 1500 overlam, awesome stuff. http://www.substanceincorporated.com/category/digital-media and http://www.substanceincorporated.com/category/overlaminates
  11. Need Help SUMMA S2 T160 DIECUT STICKERS.

Sounds like you have a broken machine or two. I use a 30" and 54" S2T, and all I do are die cut stickers all day/all week, some square, some circles, many contour cut, some 1" x 1", some 10" x 14" or larger. And I can do these in a single pass and sold my FC8600 because it was a two pass job...
  12. GCC Jaguar V

And how is this different than the OPOS registration marks on Summa cutters?
  13. Need an opinions on this printer

While I'm not an HP Latex fanboi for other reasons (I own a 310), this pricing is true, heads are $130 USD and take about 2 or 3 minutes to change when needed and ink recently went up from $125 to $135 for 775ml. The other consumable is the maintenance cartridge which is just under $200 USD.
  14. Need Help Need suggestions where to buy sign blanks

Or, just order $100 from Grimco and shipping is free, even if it is all alum panels.
  15. Onyx 18

That's just typical software maintenance/updates. I meant more like pay a small(er) monthly fee to use the software, stop paying, stop using the software.
  16. Onyx 18

Wish they had a subscription program like flexi offers.
  17. HP Latex and sticker printing

I took my sample files to my local Mimaki dealer and worked with them for a few hours printing out our samples. They were a tad better than the quality I was able to get off the latex, but certainly not something worth spending $$ on. The machine was also very very slow, at least compared to...
  18. HP Latex and sticker printing

Thanks for the info! The VJ628X looks like a nice little printer, however finding 24" vinyl for it is like finding good Aqueous vinyl, a PITA. I checked fellers, grimco, and substance for any of the 24" we use, and none are available, darn it. I went and looked at the CJV150 and had some...
  19. HP Latex and sticker printing

Any suggestions on a good printer with good quality to compete with stickermule? Right now I'm doing aqueous, vinyl, and using UV laminate on all of our stickers. Love the Epson 80600 but don't need 64" since I use my hp latex for any sign stuff.
  20. Cheap material

Order them from Stickermule, they come laminated, no worry about stocking a roll of cheap material, and you can get 100 3x5 for under 100 bucks. Heck, they'll even clean up the artwork. So for no real effort on your side, you can turn a 40 or 50% margin.
