  1. upgrading my computer. any advise?

If getting SSD, go with Intel as they have the best warranty (5yr). I haven't had any luck OR recourse with the OCZ2 brand. I was well within my last warranty and they are in dishonor. So avoid them big time, for if you do a search, you will see that many have had issues with them and many left...
  2. What trick does matte material play on your eyes?

+1 matte (might also be due to the difference in texture as I have looked under magnification)

  11. how critical are you of yourself, others?

Open and honest, that's a wonderful thing. I'm a perfectionist as well, but not hard on myself in spite of working 18+hr days 7 days a week. Half the time, I don't even know what day it is! Lol I have a Golden Retriever at my side, second and third ones in 14 years. If I happen to get...

  14. Printing on fiberglass veil

The veil was cut to the size required for lining the molds. Edges were masked down with painters tape onto regular media (just for the pinch rollers to move it through) I setup a series of tables in the back of the printer, and the equivalent in the front so that everything would feed through...
  15. Printing on fiberglass veil

As I mentioned this in another thread, thought to actually post a little more about it. Originally, the client at the time asked for scenes to be airbrushed onto fiberglass play equipment (water park installation). Though I figured that it would be a time saver and I could produce more details...
  16. Sealing vinyl under epoxy?

+1 I did a dozen table tops, no laminate. Used PPG. Light coats at first till it tacked up, then heavy coats afterwards.
  17. wrap gone really wrong

Hmm, from an artistic perspective, that blunder would make a good grunge texture map. Has that distressed feel. Add a few green and gray blotches, a few more rivets, and it could be more like a techno apocalyptic camo used on a futuristic film set. Albeit, not what was on order I suppose. Doh.
  18. Inkjet printing directly on 3/4" thick wood?

Slightly off medium here, but if ever the situation arises for anyone, I have printed directly onto fiberglass vale through a 54" Roland. Had to tape the edges down onto regular media in order for the pinch rollers to pull it through, and move the head up to avoid the odd strand. Turned out...
