  3. Need install help.... above my head. Literally.

my best guess would be make each panel the same as the existing cut/rivets. then tape it in place with backer. hinge tape it in the center of the rook. then hinge it by peeling the front all the way to the center of the roof and work out from the center to the outside. then turnaround and...
  4. Oracal not clear in their installation tips- need help

they offer low tack transfer tape.
  5. Epson GS6000

thanks for the info Shack. guess it depends on the roll manufacturer. mine has pulled off a few rolls from the tube. I usually check my roll before running them to make sure I have enough media. almost caught me the other day. I was running a box truck and gambled the last 16' panel would...
  6. Air-Conditioning?

they mean dont put it in front of an open vent blowing directly onto it. most central air is ambient if you have proper vents. a hot room is not great either. we have ours inside an office with central air set to 76' 24/7.
  7. Homemade Application Fluid??

dang, people still do wet installs? i guess window tints.
  8. Non-payer what would you do

Go pick up your sign. I'm sure they will call you. If they don't have PAID bill of sale the sign is yours. Go pick it up. We unfortunately had to do this. We put it up, client never paid, we pick up our sign. Client called complaining about his missing sign and we asked them to kindly...
  9. Full wrap of a grey car with plain white vinyl!

cannonball run II http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ554s14Vsw&feature=related Lambo went from white to red. Maybe the guys car is a lease so painting is not an option. Maybe he wants to make it a security car. We had one guy bring in a LEASED silver jeep compass. he ran a property security...
  10. GS6000 ink fade

thanks for the link. it was helpful. ok so the Epson claim... IS 1.5 years un-laminated and that all depends on "actual display environment" I'm sure they are being conservative. NOT "less than a year" as people have "heard" We had a Seiko 64s eco-solvent and most un-laminated prints do...
  11. GS6000 ink fade

Mitro start a thread with "i heard" no facts to support it. Then Rooster throws in his 2 cents with a "They tell you" who is "they" with claims about longevity again with no supporting info to support it. i love this. Here you go... Epson claims to refer to 3M ink ratings 3M supports...
  12. Epson GS6000 & Mimaki JV33 comparison

Geez Insignia I truly think you got a banged up unit and that really stinks. Ours runs fine. Our outdoor prints are holding up fine. We're in Miami so the sun is "ON" high all the time. We've printed box trucks, outdoor banners w/no lam, realtor signs w/no lam, no complaints so far.
  13. GS6000 - Logo Length Not Matching

fully engage the lever all the way down.
  14. GS6000/Colorburst - Gradient Background Not Smooth

it's not your profile it is Illustrator. We see this a lot. Build your gradient in photoshop and you will see it prints smooth. not sure why.
  15. GS 6000 head Alignment

read the manual - you pick the bars that are the closest in a straight line. if all else fails call the tech.
  16. EPSON GS6000 profile

we run colorburst. i use the generic banner profile 720 4 pass. if the banner is solid black and i see some very very slight banding i will stop it and re-send it with a higher micro weave setting. have you tried using a profile from one of the banner manufacturers?
  17. Panel length issues

no panel problems here. be sure when loading media to set the clamp all the way down to high pressure so it grips the media tight and you dont have any slippage on long panels. we just printed 14 panels for a 27 foot box truck and every panel was identical in length. we use colorburst. Note...
  18. GS6000 6 colour?

?? keep the 8 colors as is and get a different RIP like Colorburst or Onyx. Also try a different icc profile. Yes colorburst has the ability to turn off O and G although I do not recommend it because the icc profiles are built using it. you would then need to go through the daunting task of...
  19. Colorburst vs. Onyx

I use Colorburst and found it very easy to use. I have seen it crash when building large runs like 500 business card stickers but we just manage it by splitting it into 2 sets of 250. no biggie. I have also used wasatch and hated it. I have not used Onyx. I hear Onyx has more option to build...
  20. Solvents

geez 4-5 sets a month? either your ink levels are too high which then you need more heat which maybe cause buckling issues you've mentioned OR your Epson is running 24 hours a day and I'm jealous! haha.
