  3. Need Help Colorprofiling on Rasterlink 6+ with a JFX 200-2513

@ White Haus: One problem too is that a lot of sales persons know the printers, but have no idea about the advantages of third party software. They don´t even offer alternatives.
  4. Need Help Colorprofiling on Rasterlink 6+ with a JFX 200-2513

@ White Haus: I´m not a fan of rasterlink because of it works really slow, I do not like the user interface, and Rasterlink 7 specially is buggy. But most specially industrial customers with the small flatbeds don´t need special functionality, they just want to send data over a few presets.
  5. Need Help Colorprofiling on Rasterlink 6+ with a JFX 200-2513

A lot of people do. Sometimes when I´m with customers, I would have some ideas with third party software for them too, but most use Rasterlink.
  6. Affinity and Summa cutter´s

There is no Affinity Plugin for Summa GoSign. There are Plugins for Coreldraw, Illustrator or Inkscape only. But of course it is no problem to save files out of affinity which can be processed with GoSign.
  7. CS 500 Roland been sitting for years.

You mean SC500? This machine is really old, was stopped reselling more than 20 years ago. Some parts, also consumables like cap tops, are not available anymore. And have a parallel port only, which is not supported by current PC´s anymore. For my opinion, I would not spend time and money on it.

  9. Need Help Colorprofiling on Rasterlink 6+ with a JFX 200-2513

We as Mimaki dealers in germany resell MPM3, train customers and do profiling for customers too. Because MPM3 is a little bit expensive, it is not sold very often. Unfortunately, because Rasterlink 6 has no own ability to do the calibration tasks like ink limits and linearisation (as most RIP´s...

  11. Need Help Getting a new printer

The epson is very easy to use. Important for my opinion is that they show you how to manage the profiles over epson edge dashboard.
  12. Summa S160D Pressure Issues

Could be that you have a pressure preset in the cutter layer settings in CutServer.
  13. Question Got offered a good deal on an HP Scitex FB500

Old machines with heavy costs for print heads, UV-lamps and spare parts (if they are still available). No white ink conversion kit available anymore as far as I know. FB500 was replaced by FB550 in 2015 as far as I remember. I were a trained technician for that machines in 2014 - 2019. Would...

  15. AZ WTB: Parts for Summa DC3 Plus / Ribbons

The ribbons are universal in a way that they can be set in every cartridge. But there are chips coming with the ribbons which have to be set at the cartridge to let them be identified correctly (little metal pieces with the color label on it). You can ask at www.airmark.com for support and...
  16. Bad Profile Curve

Not shure if the preview for grey component replacement is accurate. If the linearisation curve in the linearisation tab shows the same effect, it could be that the pigments in the ink has settled, and the cyan ink doesn´t get an appropriate density.
  17. How do ICC profiles work?

The first step for creating a media profile/environment etc (RIP-manufacturers name that differently) is named „calibration“. This means that you define the optimal printer settings, you limit the maximum amount of ink the media can work with, and doing linearization (creating a linear increase...
  18. Help with Flexi and custom ICC profiles

Regularly, if creating an ICC-Profile correctly, the colors should match as precise as possible under given conditions. Because you do not provide us with detailed informations about printer, color configuration, media, which kind of color deviation you have and so on nobody have a chance to...
  19. Question Rip software for FB550

With a Caldera or Onyx Thrive you will not only get a RIP-software, but a collection of basic printer profiles too. Thats important to start with, except you are able and willing to do profiling yourself. You could get an Onyx Thrive 30-day full functional demo with which you could start...

I use a windows Notebook for my daily work, and a virtualbox on it for linux. If the idea is using linux for testing and learning only, this would be a good way.
