  1. Higher prices appear to be here to stay

Considering American politics specifically is just both sides lying to us about how they don’t personally support corporations taking advantage of the people, but are both funded by every shady corporation ever. 10/10, love it.
  2. Question question about print width on a sp300-v

The older Roland’ have too much media shift to safely print edge to edge. You’ll get ink on your platen when, not if, your media shifts. If you want to be safe, you survive on that 28.5” or whatever max output. Others may say otherwise, but it’s not worth the mess or risk.
  3. Need help to solve gradient color not printing properly in EPSON S80670

A flattened high res raster saved In jpeg with print exactly the same as a pdf. Raster is raster. I see no difference between file types when exporting 300dpi raster.
  4. Opinions on backlit signs with printers that print white

Ucjv300 can do this all in 1 step.
  5. UCJV300-160 Pinch rollers mark on a vinyl surface

If your machine is older, replace the pinch rollers. I found that the crappy Amazon replacements are softer and last longer than the OEM’s. We smashed through the OEM pinch rollers in 3 months. These are held on by o rings, so Mimaki absolutely considers them a consumable.
  6. Does graphic card matter?

Don’t cheap out on a crappy computer. Read reviews. Anything designed for and confirmed from reviews for high powered design will do perfectly. I bought a higher-middle end Lenovo laptop that runs photoshop, illustrator, rasterlink, and versaworks perfectly. Was about a grand. Monitor...
  7. Recently Purchased Roland LEC2-640

Demand Roland replace it. You can cause a stir to get what you paid for, it does work if you’re cutthroat enough.
  8. UCJV300 - Whats your technique for getting the captops out?

There’s cheap knockoffs? Those caps are expensive I wouldn’t mind a cheapie haha
  9. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

Same. I’ve had my LEC300A since 2017 and I’ve done everything myself outside of the first couple tech visits. Things a junker, but it’s my junker. I’ll buy it’s big brother when it croaks.
  10. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

Who’s your dealer? If this left regular mode, it has to have been moved to service mode, right? It has to be able to be turned off. The hard line from cleanings is real, happens on my LEC300A, so that’s absolutely unacceptable. Whoever sold and installed that printer should be called and...
  11. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

Which goes away once you cycle a functional chip back into the printer. Call your dealer, if you’ve never putt third party in, this shouldn’t happen. This is a current generation printer, demand the love.
  12. NEVER BUY A ROLAND!

This sounds like a vote for zero accountability more than you maybe thought it did. California requires too much. Everyone else requires too little. There needs to be a middle ground, which today we really don’t have. The industrial revolution and our lovely (lack of) laws in relation to...
  13. Client refusing payment

No terms. No deposits. 100% payment, cash or card, at job approval. I don’t have time to work and play mobster.
  14. How do you guys keep track of orders/jobs currently in your shop?

I only make one customizable product with 3 raw skus, so it’s literally just a print out of their paid detailed invoice with their graphic attached - cause a job isn’t a job until the money sings.
  15. Need Help Ujv100-160 refresh rate

Have you called your dealer? That’s probably the right place to start.
  16. Roland Versacamm VP540 Help

May I ask the point of risking time and money sending out the cheapest solvent heads on the market for cleaning? At $500 a pop on digi, it’s hard for me to personally understand the justification. The membranes in DX4’s are so sensitive, when it’s gone, it’s gone. Did this service offer a...
  17. Roll to roll UV printer?

If you do your own maintenance and parts repairs, dig up a Roland LEC-540 or LEJ-640. The old ones. The new ones play the locked arrive mode TruVis games. I have an LEC300A and it’s an absolute tank. I also have a UCJV300-160, but the super matte ink of the Mimaki and larger ink droplet of the...
  18. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

The carrier film is so thin, and the adhesive is so bitey, that id be afraid to apply it to a 8.5x32.5 surface, even with wet apply. The surface area and curvature of a skateboard makes it such a mistake risk. As far as I’m aware, you have to be setup with clear and white for these, so you’re...
  19. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

The A/B sheet model would work fine for top of board prints, but the structure of how it’s all made wouldn’t be a my choice for a skateboard. Adhesives fail - bonds don’t. It would work, but it wouldn’t be a comparable. And not to mention the cost to produce, woof.
  20. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

    Love to hear it!
