  1. SEG Frames and Prints

We used this place for replacement SEG prints. Don't know if they do frames also. https://websigncenter.com/
  2. Odd question for time & material

Since you were able to work on other things while babysitting the board I wouldn't charge 4 hours. maybe charge about the cost of the lettering for the removal and then charge the cost of the new lettering. And explain that it should have cost more but you appreciate their business and spend a...
  3. Here's an absolute new one for me, after 51 years.............................................

I would have handled it the same way. Some people are just wacko.
  4. Shop charge for laminating customer supplied lam.

Nope. Once it's clear he is becoming a competitor and not a customer I'm done. Also I wouldn't do a job like that (except for a friend). Using client supplied lam on their print? What happens if you mess it up, or the lam is crap, or in 6 months it fails because the materials are incompatable...
  5. This worries me more than Russia...

Agree, if it weren't for Ukraine this would be front and center
  6. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

A good alternative is to mount the letters on rails painted to match the wall. Then it can be mounted with the screws used to assemble those wall
  7. 5’ x 10’ 6mm ACM availability

We sometimes make these on a 1"x1" aluminum tube frame with molding.
  8. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

Corrugated steel is a special situation. It sucks to drill and is hard to get the pattern done properly, often requires extra reaming. And its a thin surface so not as secure as masonry, though the studs do hold well if the hole isn't reamed out. We have actually done these with nuts on the...
  9. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

For letters that large and heavy I would add some extra studs. In a solid wall with long studs they wouldn't move much anyhow. Any decent adhesive should work. Just be sure to tell them to blow out the holes after drilling.
  10. is My gerber LE dead? Cant print anymore, video inside.

I don't remember exactly. But disconnecting a data cord doesn't affect power. Also you can try clearing your spooler cache. If you search for Edge problesm on Signs101 therr are many threads that may have the answer
  11. Client Error wants Warranty

Tell him you will do the repair after the dealer repaints if for free
  12. is My gerber LE dead? Cant print anymore, video inside.

Did you disconnect from computer and reconnect? I remember something about that clearing similar issues
  13. How to glue coroplast together?

Wow, zombie thread, lots of familiar and some long gone faces. We use cheap dbl stick foam tape.
  14. pricing for installation of dimensional letters

Like has been said, the surface material makes a huge difference. We did a set of letters on a drivit (stucco) wall. Two years later they decided to do a rock veneer. The price to remove and reinstall the letters was as much as the original job. And I should have charged more- the rock was crap.
  15. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I got a headache reading this. I still do my quotes on paper. For a small shop doing custom work simple still works.
  16. Question IS GRIMCO LIKE THIS WITH EVERYTHING?

This is why I try to purchase from the "local" full line sign suppliers I've used for 30+ years (Garston and Nepco). I use national suppliers for items I can't get locally (Grimco is good for traffic sign blanks). But I also have back ups that are "local" companies like Beacon, Hyatt and Hall...
  17. Routing grooves in 4x4 wood post

We use a dado in the table saw. But a router works fine, and I would do a few passes increasing the depth. You can get an inexpensive router table which makes this and many other routing jobs easier
