  1. Small Size HDU Sign Supplier

I have subbed a few jobs to this place https://www.hansonsign.com/
  2. Advise on horrible customer

Having too many eggs in one basket can be a double edged sword :roflmao: OK, enough corny metaphors. That is a delicate situation, I like Inks recommendation, if it is doable. You should respond in some form that you feel you deliver value and service without an overt threat to drop them. Then...
  3. Fit Text/Shape to Path

It is a bit clunky, I usually adjust kerning after I see how it looks
  4. CUT FAUX GOLD LEAF VINYL

    damn reading glasses :roflmao:
  5. Before Computers

That's a beauty, never had one as nice as that. The first I had, that I got at Butera Sign School, was stolen around '80. It's replacement is still going strong.
  6. CUT FAUX GOLD LEAF VINYL

Like Gino said. depends on what you mean. Signgold & Realgold are actual goldleaf that is printable/cutable. For fake gold leaf I use VinylEFX, only one with any exterior durabilty.

Is it possible to cut the graphic from copper sheets/flashing? I've done it a few time and it looked great. or Like John said, copper leaf, but definitely clear coat

  10. Hanger bar for stick built cabinet

If you have the sheet metal skills and equipment you may be able to copy the extruded profile. Or just design the bends so you can pop rivet a hanger bar in.
  11. CARVED SIGN

CNC by fellow Signs101 member GB2. I used to hand carve...when the Gerber Signmaker started replacing my hand lettering I decided to learn hand carving because they'd never replace that with a machine. Took a workshop from Paul White on the Cape. A few months later Gerber introduced the Sabre.
  12. CARVED SIGN

    Before
  13. CARVED SIGN

Nothing spectacular but I like the way the photo came out, the landscaping really sets off the sign well. Carved HDU with single stage acrylic poly, gold leaf, white on the carved address and white ACM property panel installed on three 4x4 Pt with white PVC covers & caps
  14. News Lectra completes the acquisition of Gerber Technology

Sign products don't even rate a mention....it's a shame. Gerber basically invented CAD sign programs & machines and then through a combination of bad decisions and poor performance fell way behind. Their plotters and the Edge are some of the best machines made for what they do and their design...
  15. Cutting ACM

Lots of good suggestions. For years we mostly cut on the track saw or table saw with a good fine blade. Few years back picked up a used 52" stomp shear, wish I'd bought one years ago.
  16. Time for a new printer

Why is there so much prejudice against print/cut? Seems like the perfect machine for a shop with limited space and/or lower volume.
  17. New Plotter for Gerber Omega 2.6?

Has anyone confirmed that Oracal is discontinuing 15"? Still have 3M/Gerber, Arlon, Avery....

I've run into towns with "Architectural Review Boards" that can refuse anything they feel like
  19. HP 360 Service Contract

I don't have the 360 but do have other HPs. I have been using HPs for about 15+ years. After the original warranties ran out I fixed them myself. It's not difficult, just time consuming for some fixes, especially if you're not doing it a lot. Then I switched to extended warranties on refurbs I...
  20. vinyl residue remover

We have them all...what works on one project doesn't work on the next. Favs are Max Pro Remover, Rapid Remover and alcohol. We had a job last week that all the residue cleaned up nice with MaxPro but nothing touched one area, finally had to use lacquer thinner.
