I would use some HH66 and add some vinyl in to cover over the tear and then try the tabs on the corner with the grommet. I think its more of a trial and error thing at this point depending on how badly the grommet ripped the banner.
We use 90% Alch. for most stuff....good cleaning then a buffing. PVC Ive started ordering masked single sided and it seems to cut down on the need to clean the boards a great deal.
Printed nice on the Roland 540....want to put it up on the LX850 next to see how it handles the heat and inks. Arlon rep scratched his head when I asked about it on the latex... See how it goes!!
Anyone tried using it yet? Air Egress...white vinyl...clear adhesive. We shot part of a roll so far, prints looked fine. Any other feedback after the fact? Selling as a low end product...but with air egress.
Hey John....keep it at 100 DPI at full size. Not a problem with that resolution at all. Prints would be fantastic as long as the images have enough resolution to begin with.
Well...Key banner in a box vs the tube....big difference right there. I dont think Grimco packages it itself when it comes in the container from overseas. We used to get key...but had issues with consistency of the denier and printability on our 3360s at the time. Switched back to Ultraflex...
Vutek Service
I know our service guys in the area are really good from EFI.. Not sure how they are across the pond. If they're not servicing well, push it up the chain of command. Scream and shout until it gets fixed right! EFI does listen to a point.
Depends on the material and if the tech sets up the belt tensions correctly. If youre doing long runs on banner with the QS...yes..a disaster. PSAs are good on it. I would go with the EFI QS due to the cost of support alone being less on it vs the Oce. I know that oce charges more for FE...
Lets see....Printer itself has been Glitchy...computer issues....printer software issues...beyond all the quirks, its been a good fit and provided some very nice prints!
As a MM here..we went for a UV printer with white ink. We rarely use it...most of the ink gets purged and thrown away it seems. Its really a niche thing and our clients that utilize us for white ink jobs love the capabilities it provides but some dont want to pay the additional pricing for...
I have Fuji Sericol inks in my XC540....they work great. Fuji tech provided me with profiles....colors look great. Not anymore ink used vs OEM. Had 2 issues with ink...one Lt Magenta...one in Black. Both times...reimbursed me for a printhead cost. They knew the issue was theirs and backed...
We get the same type of things constantly....client asking "why the yellow is Green when printed?" Hmmm....RGB yellow converted to CMYK always adds Cyan...comes out with a green cast.
Basically, we have simply gone to telling clients to stay away from RGB in anything but photographic images...
Well, its installed and running....very well I may add.
So far for the first 2 weeks running we are very pleased with it.
Running Caldera V9 on a Mac so that is taking some time to get used to as well.....
As we see different things about it, we'll try to note it here!
Cyan Black head on 850
We lost a C-K head on our 850 in less than a weeks of operation due to a very minor head strike....cant figure that one out. Our other printers wouldve kept on smiling after a brief encounter with the 13oz NP Matte! This one killed it....otherwise, we've only put 12...
