  1. Are HP Latex 800W printers actually okay now?

I've had the 700w for around three years now and never had any problems with it. Last fall, HP issued a recall on the tubes and motherboard (I think), and everything was done for free, even though the machine was out of warranty. The technician had to replace the tube system 24 hours later due...
  2. Stencil Material Recommendation

I use synthetic poster paper for studs (we always have this in stock) and laser cut cardboard for flat. For flat, we were using low tac material. But the time to cut and premask then lay it out on the job site was alot more time consuming than cardboard.

ikarasu I'm currently looking at sinocolor brand for a mini flatbed printer. Especially to make braille and tactile products. 5. Looking for a colleague in Coquitlam with a Latex HP printer. Let's help each other! :)

I have a 700w and I'm in the montreal area. I have the printer for a bit less than 3 years now and never had any major problems. If I'm down, it is never more than 2-3 days. There's been a physical update of the printer done last summer (free by HP) and the tech had to change the tubes 2 times...
  6. Pricing for Subbed out Jobs on my HP800W, super slow white print

I have a 700w. I use white for spot 95% of the time. I've done some small jobs with 3 layers and 5 layers but never really tried to dial the timing. I've took a regular 6pass, 8pass and 12 pass to time the job. apply a price per hour then try to apply this same price for the profiles with white...
  7. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I'm very skeptical the plastic would hold up. Plus it seems more suitable for rigid signs.
  8. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I like the idea but could be a bit expensive. What else would you use for larger and more permanent jobs?
  9. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I've suggested something similar but the customer "did not like the look". yeah, I know.
  10. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I need suggestions other than plastic tie wraps to hold a banner on a chain-link fence. It's not a large banner, just 38in x 80in. I've used stainless steel tie wraps before, and even though they are rated for 250lbs, I’ve had issues with them in the past, even on smaller banners. Thanks.

Well, he use a Dewalt (smaller) model and I have a milwaukee m18 fuel small one. The problem is the drill bit are destroyed. So I assume the drill is not the culprit. 15. Need Help Drilling through brick problem

My installer went there with a hammer drill and wasn’t able to drill through, using 3 drill bits for 3 holes. We ordered some Diablo Rebar Demon drill bits but still couldn’t make a decent hole (used...
  16. Red/white blue/white laser cutters

If you can afford it, get a model with a RF tube instead of glass. More precise and faster. I have a thunder laser 63in/130w with glass tube and like it. They just came out with their RF tubes series. I will probably change my machine for one if they come out with the 63in bed.
  17. Colex SXC1732 vs Esko X24

I'm waiting to have the place and $$$ to get the 5x10 table. But we will definitely go with the colex. The kongsberg looked good but it's a 3 phases machine and we don't have it here. We could buy a transformer but it would cost more than the colex in the end. Plus colex technician is local to...
  18. 3D Printed Dimensional Letters

I've looked at 3D printing to do interior stuff. It was about 2-3 years ago, but the speed was horrible. For example, laser cut a 7in tall ''A'' in 1in thick acrylic take me 4min. It would be faster with a CNC. I would curious how much time a 3D printer would take to create that even if the...

I have 500 white cut vinyl (7inX11in) that will be premasked that need to be cut to pieces. Other than cut it by hand, would there be a way I could trim this with my fotoba digitrim? I'm not sure it would read the white vinyl on the blue backing plus the premask over it.
