We had a W-64 and also had problems with the heads failing and not being able to print a solid light grey without vertical banding. We replaced the magenta head in Nov 2018 only to have it fail in again July 2019. Oki would not cover it. So we dismantled the printer and sent it to recycling.

We noticed the same problem on the IJ 480 Envision film also. ( latex version ). Not impressed.

We've had our 570 on the floor for 2 weeks now and the colours ( including the reds ) are great. We've been calibrating our medias and profiling from the printer with no issues. We use Onyx12 Production House to rip all of our jobs.

Plenty of good used equipment out there.....why build it when you can buy it.

You most likely have some dried ink on your heads..or the sides of the heads. The ink runs down and drips off every once a awhile. Clean your heads manually...use a pad kit and let it sit for a few hours it should loosen up. Good luck!

They must be all the same....I doubt HP or Seiko have multiple suppliers for the ink cartidges.

We've had our 64S since August of 2006. It is a workhorse....it has only been down for a total of 4 days in 3 years! So far we have printed over 9000 linear meters with all the original heads. No complaints here!

We use Avery's MPI 2601, it's a great vinyl and it's removable if the wall was properly painted c/w primer.
