print clear, and layer a white trans print on top.
edited to add: if your substrate is white trans, then you already have a diffuser, so applying a clear print to both sides (backside printed mirror'd) would be ideal unless of course it is impossible with certain awning materials

looks like ink starvation to me.
sometimes the carts say they have more ink than they actually do, and i've pulled it out to shake & its bone dry.
another ink starvation of mine way on my old mimaki, and the capping station wasn't refreshing ink-siphon of the lines/heads due to...
thinking on it some more, just figure out the most difficult letter to produce and use that as your price point. ...then "sharpen your pencil" if you're trying to be more competitive on a quote.
