I have seen issues! I have a trailer company that puts advertising decals on the horse trailers they build. Each trailer gets a package of approx 8" x 8" decals. Years back I explained the difference between cast vs calendared etc... They decide to go with calendared obviously from a budget...
Actually 3M recently released 780CR and it is far superior to 680CR. It doesn't bruise nearly as easy, more conformable and reflects from a wider angle.
The shrinkage has nothing to do with the 1360Z, you are using a calendered vinyl in 2105. We use a large amount of 1105/1360z for full wraps and just about everything else on vehicles and never have this issue.
We did some golf carts with IJ180 over 5 years ago for a police department and they are still in great shape (considering the abuse they take). Most golf carts are painted plastic and not low energy plastic so the high tack ATV/MX vinyl is not really required.
Check the humidity in your print room. My guess it is high. Get a dehumidifier and manage the humidity and it will cure a few of your problems (buckling, jamming, moisture on windows etc.).
OK, here is my "no emotion" answer.
I have a JV33 still running in my shop alongside a L260 and a L360. There will be growing pains when you switch to any new machine even within the same manufacturer. I love(oops, emotion) the JV33, it has been a workhorse and after 7 years can still produce...
I have used the convex chrome material for football helmet decals and it works good other than once you laminate it you lose some of the pure chrome look.
I had the exact same issue a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a slight leak in the capping station. I would replace the capping station and dampers with oem parts.
Does anyone have excessive buckling and headstrikes on the L360?
This is typically happening on lower end material (calendered) offerings from both oracal and avery. I assume heat is a factor but I don't have the same issue on our L26500.
The material will sometimes buckle completely and get...
Ink limits are surely too high. One other workaround to try would be to check the humidity in the print area. If it is in an enclosed area and the humidity is on the high side (>50%) you could try a dehumidifier to bring it down.
If you sign a letter of intent they discount the 360 by $1k so we picked up one for $18k with a set of inks and installation.
In talking with A guy at the HP booth the specs are the same between the 360 and 370 except for the bulk ink and the uninterruptible printing. The ink cost savings is...
Don't be so sure it's laminated. I bid on 20+ 53 ft trailers and was low balled out of it pretty quickly. I found out who did it and that they outsourced the prints to a very large print supplier and were not laminated. The install was sad. I saw the "finished product" about a week after...
You had mentioned being cold. If you have the exact same problem I would explore the environment further.
Is the media cold and or damp. If the issue dissipates once you start moving then it could be the media has static, moisture or not up to temp yet.
Check humidity, our JV 33's happy...
This is how I do it on a JV33 (any printer will work). I print the image on translucent white (noting the exact alignment of the print on the machine). I then laminate the print with a clear material. I put the print back in the mimaki, lining it up exactly where the original print was. I then...
It sounds like an ink starvation issue. I know you have replaced the damper but the far left damper area is most likely the issue. I would switch the 2 magenta dampers (far right and far left) and see if the problem switches sides on the test draw. If it doesn't then I would replace the o ring...
